On with the story!
Emperor Ling Yao had decided to throw a party in Amestris on one of his visits. Among the hundreds in the list were his friends Edward and Alphonse Elric. They were some of the first to arrive, which made him very happy to get some time to chat with them. A few hours within, he heard a shout from another part of the room.
"WHO ARE YOU CALLING SO SHORT HE COULD BE SQUISHED LIKE AN ANT?!"
Ed had used once again one of his classic rants. Of course. Ling facepalmed while he heard some arguing, but got surprised when it had shifted from the Elric to another guest to Elric against Elric. He excused himself from the conversation he was currently having to see what was gonna happen. Before they got into view, he could hear a crash and a scream. He finally pushed himself to the front of the crowd, and saw that there was a broken glass near Alphonse, which he supposed came from Ed's hands. With a shocked look, he realized that it looked like Al was preparing to fight back.
"WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA I don't know what happened between you two, but you will not fight here, if you could possibly hurt any of the guests." Ling stepped between the two brothers, hoping that they wouldn't do anything to him for breaking it up. They did stop, but stayed away from each other for the rest of the party.
Eventually everyone started to leave, and all of the guests were given a party popper. Ling cautiously walked up to the brothers, who had met up again quietly to leave together.
"Hey guys. Thanks for not fighting."
He lifted up his party popper with a small smile, and a few seconds later Al (yes, Al) smirked and lifted up his too. Quickly, he put it onto Ed's forehead and pulled the string, knocking down the older brother, whose defeat looked more pizzazzy with the shower of confetti.
"I think I win, Brother."
I don't think I've ever used a party popper before... it seems fun, although I'd probably be scared to use it because of the noise. *sweat drop* Also the same reason why I'm scared of popping balloons.
