"Remind me to never let you talk me into this again, Kouga." Ayame half giggled and sighed from exhaustion.
"Hey now, you have to admit you had fun… some fun besides I was the one doing all of the work." He grinned with his chest heaving, covered in a thin layer of sweat as well as hers. She lifted her hand up to toss her hair off to one side before draping it over his chest. "I'm hot. You're making me hot, babe." He grumped before squirming uncomfortably and kicking the blankets off.
Ayame couldn't help but to giggle at his antics again and nuzzled against his right shoulder., "Kouga, you need to calm down first." She advised, still smiling with a light pink shade on her cheeks. Kouga still found it a mystery as to why she didn't have a speck of freckles on her face despite most stereotypes redheads followed through; pale skin, bright eyes and flaming red hair that was now all over the place.
"Easy for you to say." Kouga sighed contently before stroking her back in a soothing manner. "Still can't believe I got promoted… feels as if everything is moving so fast." Ayame started to say while she busied herself by making her hand walking up his chest.
"Well it was bound to happen, you're devoted to your work and those animals need you… like I did, three hours ago." He said with a grin as she playfully elbowed him. "But on a serious note, I'm really proud of you. You deserved it." He added as he gave her a quick peck on the cheek. She smiled warmly and wrapped both arms around despite him being hot in the nude and her feeling cold due to him kicking the blankets off the bed.
At the moment, Ayame seem to have everything she wanted. A loving boyfriend, a beautiful home and now a promotion that was one up a Veterinary Technician and also meant more money being brought into the house but yet the only thing that tended to hold them back was her sudden inability to conceive. For the past few months, they were trying almost everything to conceive a child but no such luck as of yet.
"When do you think we'll have a kid?" Ayame asked, curiosity and hope was getting it's best at her today while he arched a brow and frowned a bit. He too, was always disappointed about losing all his possible sons or daughters. It took them both a lot and would often tend to grow tensions between them. He'd blame her job a lot due to the constant off the clock hours that would make her to excessively active and she'd blame herself despite how many times he told her it wasn't her fault.
But like any other couple, they worked it out and through the fire and still tried remained hopeful although it slowly began to dissipate of them ever having the chance to have children. "… Do you think this time… we did it?" she asked again, biting her bottom lip hoping for him to tell her a lie or something assuring.
He tried to force a smile but what was the sense in pretending anymore?
He took a deep breath and remained silent for awhile before figuring out what to say to her, "I'm not even sure anymore… we'll just have to wait and see." He muttered at last and pecked her forehead. She frowned a little and gripped unto him even tighter, feeling colder than she did before.
But oblivious to them, the seed that was planted inside her was already blooming.
