The crimson blood dripped from his hands. Turning on the faucet, he washed away the evidence from his latest murder victim. There was nothing Charles Lee Ray enjoyed more than a good strangling. Unless, of course, that counted his current girlfriend, Tiffany.
There was a knock at the door.
"Chucky, are you okay in there?" Came the sweet voice of Tiffany.
"Yeah, babe, I'm fine", Chucky answered.
"How did it go tonight?"
"Oh, Tiff, you should have been there. I really pulled one over on that bitch tonight."
He grabbed a washcloth and placed it under the running water to wipe away some of the blood on his face. He looked at his reflection in the mirror, flashing himself a sinister smile. They didn't call him the Lakeshore Strangler for nothing.
"Give me a minute, will ya?" Chucky asked through the door.
"Okay. Just don't keep me waiting", said Tiffany. Her footsteps faded.
Walking into the kitchen, Tiffany put on a pair of oven mitts and opened the oven to check on the cookies she was baking. She pulled the baking sheet out and started removing the cookies with a spatula, placing them onto a plate.
Chucky came in and surprised Tiffany by wrapping his arms around her middle, giving her a kiss on her right cheek. He smelled like blood mixed with Old Spice. She found it enticing.
"Did you miss me?" Chucky asked her.
"You know I always get lonely whenever you leave, Chucky", Tiffany answered. "I think about you all the time."
"You look great tonight, Tiff. By the way, I got something for you."
Chucky reached into the pocket of his trenchcoat and pulled out a piece of jewelry. He placed it around Tiffany's neck.
Tiffany removed the mitts from her hands and turned and went over to a small mirror hanging on the wall. She was wearing a diamond necklace, recently stolen from the body of a female victim.
"What do you think?" Chucky asked her.
"Oh, Chucky, it's beautiful", said Tiffany. "You killed a girl just to get this for me?"
"You know I'd do anything for you, babe", said Chucky. He took Tiffany into his arms and pulled her over to the couch. He sat down and had her rest her head on his lap. His right hand placed itself on top of her pretty little head. He stared down at her and she stared back at him. They both smiled.
Before he came home, Tiffany had started preparing dinner for just the two of them. She wanted to surprise Chucky by making his favorite dish, Swedish meatballs. At the moment, neither one of them were hungry. All Chucky wanted was to be with his girl.
As for Tiffany, those ice-cold blue eyes of his were appetizing enough. Her mother always told her that love was food for the soul. Then again, her mother told her a lot of things about the subject. Deep down in her heart, Tiffany knew her love for Chucky was stronger than anything, even death.
At that moment, the telephone rang. Chucky looked over at it and then looked at Tiffany again. "I'll get it", she said.
Tiffany got up and went over and picked up the phone and put it to her ear. "Hello?...Yeah, he's here." Tiffany lowered the phone and said to her boyfriend, "It's Eddie."
"What the hell does he want?" Chucky asked, as he went over to grab the phone away from Tiffany. "Eddie, talk to me...Yeah?...Where?...Fine, I'll be there soon...Of course I'm bringing Tiff. Who do you think we're doing this for?" Chucky hung up the phone and turned back to Tiffany.
"What did he say?"
"Change of plans, babe. We're going out tonight."
