"And why are we here again" the grumpy Italian country asked

"Because it's fun!" cheered the over enthusiastic American as he ran into the warm water that was flooding with children.

Romano stood there absolutely shocked at his so called 'friend', as the boisterous blond splashed around and nearly ran over two children.

"Come on in dude the waters great!" hollered America as he dashed headlong into the wave pool.

Romano only sighed louder and walked haughtily into the pool. Then a loud buzzer sounded throughout the water park and the pool started undulating.

America hollered happily into the air, while the other groaned in disgust.

The two of them traveled deeper into the pool and into the higher waves. Romano followed America sulking the whole way, but the edges of his resolve wore away as he saw his beloved lover enjoying himself.

All of a sudden scream pierced the air. Romano whipped his head towards the sound his protective side starting to come out.

A little girl no older than five was being shoved under the water, when she got up another wave splashed down on her cutting off any noise.

Romano swam towards the girl as quickly as he could, pushing onlookers away. He reached the brown hair child and swept her into his arms turning away from the waves and carrying her to the edge of the pool. When he reached the edge a pale and scared woman ran over.

"Louise? Louise?" the woman said to the child calling her name for some response.

Louise coughed several times to get any water in her lungs out of them, and then looked up to her mom and started crying.

Romano was frightened that he hurt the girl, but when the woman started crying only with a smile on her face did he understand. The two of them were scared and happy for the safety of the girl and what just happened. Romano put down the girl so she could better hug her mother (he assumed), and was about to walk away when a hand grabbed his swim shorts. He looked down and saw the little girl smiling up at him.

"Thank you!" She said cheerfully

Romano was surprised at the turn around the girl just had, from being half drowned to happy as hell?

His thoughts came to a stop as her mother also thanked him, and offered him a free dinner at the waterparks restaurant.

Romano declined politely and told the mother that the child's happiness and safety was the only rewarded he wanted.

After a few more thank yous the child and her mother walked off to return to their hotel room.

Romano sighed in relief and then sucked back in that air as two arms slipped around his waist, but he relaxed again when familiar sandy hair was seen out of the corner of his eye.

"Alf-"

"Well done Romano, you are the hero today" The American muttered into the Italians ear, promptly turning said Italians face full flush

"What do you mean by that? I just helped a child people do that every day!"

"Not every day do people save children from drowning. What you just did saved a life"

"Yeah well she better use it wisely" the Italian muttered

"I'm sure she will Romano, for now let's go back to the room okay?"

"Okay but you better not be thinking of doing anything weird"
