In the beginning there was Mother Earth, Gaea, and there was the Sky, Uranus. They were the King and the queen of the universe. The first of there children were the Titans taller than mountains they were the first gods. The six gods had six sisters the Titanesses whom they married. The next children were the Cyclops's the one eyed strong creatures named Lightning, Thunder, and Thunderbolt. The third of Gaeas' children had fifty heads and one hundred arms each. Uranus cast them into Tartarus, the deepest pit on earth. Gaea was disturbed by her husbands' behavior and made a sickle out of flint and asked her sons to kill him. None were brave enough but Cronos the youngest but strongest of the Titans. Gaeas' second husband was Pontus the sea. From there union the gods of the watery depths were created.
Cronus was now the king of the universe. While he ruled it was men's golden age. His wife was Rhea his sister. Since he did not release his monstrous brothers from there confinements Mother Earth was plotting his downfall though she was biding her time because there was no god alive that could kill him. He knew this so every time his wife gave birth he would swallow the infant God so that they were securely inside him so he was in danger. Rhea wept bitterly as she watched her five sisters surrounded by there children. When she lay upon Earth Mother Earth whispered to her her plan. Rhea was carrying the sixth child so when he was born she quickly hid him and wrapped a stone in the swaddling clothes and gave it to her husband. The Child was Zeus, and he was to be Cronus' downfall. He first had to get people to back up his efforts so he devised a plan to free his siblings. He but a herb into Cronus' drink saying that it was an herb that would make him unconquerable all that it did though was to make him violently sick. In the end he ended up vomiting up the five other gods he had swallowed. They were the Gods Hades and Poseidon and the goddesses Hestia, Demeter, and Hera. All of whom joined Zeus' forces. When Cronus saw his six children rising against him he fled surrendering his powers.
It was now Zeus who was King of the Universe. This is where my story begins. My name is Chloris and I am a flower deity.
