NESTING

Making a home in the Batcave has unleashed a long-buried side of Dean Winchester that Sam had all but forgotten about.

When Dean grouchily admitted to 'nesting', the sheer absurdity of the idea had Sam chuckling into his home-cooked meals.
But now, as he stood in the doorway to the Batcave's cavernous kitchen, watching his brother enthusiastically hammering a lump of dough into submission, Sam wasn't laughing any more.
Savouring the mouthwatering aroma of baking lasagne, he scanned the kitchen's ancient fixtures, all sparkling clean thanks to Dean's dedication.
He could see, beneath Dean's determined grimace as he punished the dough, another softer expression warring for dominance.
Contentment.
Sam suddenly felt warm moisture in his eyes.
And he couldn't even blame any dust.
