CIA Dude: We can do this the easy way. *slams fists on table* or the hard way! So what's it gonna be?

Me: *whimpers*

CIA Dude: I guess it'll be the hard way. Boys, bring it in! *two big guys come in carrying a container* Inside this case is your entire book collection. If you co-operate, we won't destroy them.

Me: *eyes go wide* NO! Anything but that.

CIA Dude: Then tell us *pauses for dramatic effect* everything.

Me: *starts hyperventilating* Okay FINE! I ate the last piece of face cake. I didn't mean to it just happened! No one was around and it looked so good! It wasn't my fault!

CIA Dude: What are talking about? I was asking you to talk about your owner ship of Gallagher Girls and "Close."

Me: Ooh. Why didn't you say so? I DON'T OWN GALLAGHER GIRLS OR "CLOSE"! ALLY CARTER AND RASCAL FLATTS DO!

Rachel Morgan sat on the couch in her office, crying. Not sobbing, though. The sobs had subsided a while ago. She was just sniffling now.

She was thinking about Chris.

She pulled out the cell phone she had for Chris and Cammie. She dialed voice mail, and Chris' voice came on.

"Hey, sweetie. I'm a little held up at the headquarters writing a follow-up report for our last mission. You know the one where you strangled that Russian leader with panty-hose?" Rachel cracked a smile at that. Chris could always joke about their missions. "Well, I was thinking I could pick you and Cammie up to go have dinner at "The Fireside" when I get out. I know it's your favorite. I love you, and can't wait to see you tonight. I've been thinking about you all day long. Call me back when you can, Rachel."

Rachel listened as the automated voice asked her if she wanted to erase the message. She thought about it, she needed to face facts. Chris most likely wouldn't come home.

She pressed nine.

"Message saved." The automated voice said. She just couldn't erase it.

"It makes her feel close. Makes her smile it's like he's with her almost."

Rachel looked down at what she was wearing. It was Chris' old CIA sweatshirt. He would wear it all the time on the weekends running around outside with Cammie. Fooling around, teaching her to fight, laughing. So many memories were in it.

Rachel started to get mad. Mad at Chris for going MIA. Mad at herself for crying and giving up hope. She wanted to think he was alive, but…

She just couldn't.

She took off her sweatshirt and wadded it up. She threw it in the trash can. For the hundredth time.

Ten minutes later, she fished it out and put it back on. She couldn't let it go. Not yet.

It makes her feel close.

For just a little while.

"She's still in hell, but she tells herself, she's ready to let him go. But it makes her feel close."

It was just a worn out CIA sweatshirt. She's gotten mad and tried to throw that thing away at least a hundred times.

She's got it on tonight.

It makes her feel close
makes her smile
it's like he's with her almost
till the tears take over
she's still in hell
but she tells herself she's ready to let him go
cause that makes her feel close

to saying goodbye, getting on with her life
maybe give love another try
one more try
oh, one more try
