Crime Fighter

"Do-do-da-do-do-doo-do! Do-do-da-do-do-doo." Pinkie sang as she leapt and ducked about the room.

"Pinkie Pie. What are you doing?" Rainbow asked, not happy about being distracted from the most thrilling chapter of her newest Daring Doo novel.

"I'm pretending to be crime fighter, silly!"

Rainbow looked incredulous. "Crime fighter? Pinkie, there are no crimes in Ponyville."

"Or maybe that's just what they want us to think…" Pinkie said ominously.

"They?" Fluttershy asked from where she was curled up with Rainbow.

"Yes. You know, the criminals."

"Of course." Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes at Fluttershy, who stifled a giggle behind her hoof.

"Oh, Pinkie Pie, I think it's awfully valiant of you to want to be a hero." Fluttershy said proudly.

"Ugh! Why do always have to encourage her? No wonder she's always doing these crazy things."

"Come on Rainbow. It's who she is! We don't ask you to stop racing and being athletic just because we don't have fun the same way." Fluttershy said defensively.

"Oh, you don't ask me not to fly, huh? What about the, 'oh Rainbow, if you finished your weather work instead of flying around goofing off, you could spend more time with us'?" Rainbow mocked in whiny voice.

"I don't sound like that!"

"Yea! She doesn't sound like that!" Pinkie Pie called from where she was pressed flat against the wall spy style.

"You make it sound as if I nag, but I just ask you nicely, out of no other reason than I want to spend time with the pony I love!" Fluttershy insisted.

"All right, all right, fine. You're right. I guess if I want to fly around having fun I have to let Pinkie Pie do her thing."

"That's not the point I was trying to make." Fluttershy grumbled.

"Yes, yes; and I ought to think about sharing more of my time with you two instead of being selfish. I got it!." Rainbow said exasperatedly

"All right, good." Fluttershy said. She smiled appreciatively but Rainbow was too busy looking over her shoulder where Pinkie Pie was silently laughing at her expense. The two of them often took turns being chastised by Fluttershy for their insensitivity; and then accordingly did nothing to comfort or support each other, choosing instead to find entertainment in it.
