author's note: this is another doomsday thing. hogwarts is attacked, hermione dies,
and ron is left behind. unlike many doomsday fics, however, ron is not a grief-ridden wanderer. hermione left him with a wonderful gift-optimisim-and he still sees beauty in the world. a slightly different take on things.
