Hi,
So if you're reading this at all, you've seen the email notification that hey, this story that is roughly five or so years old, got an update when that long ago, I promised a crummy sequel to a crummy story. A recent review had gotten me thinking on this story and I had basically not even read the other books the reviewer mentioned until after I'd published the entirety of this twenty long chapter story, but yes, I do see the resemblance.
And it's agonizing how right this reviewer is. It actually pains me to think about fixing this story that a stuffy and awkward fourteen-year-old had started and a sort of 'meh' fifteen year old finished just for the sake of finishing it. I will say at nineteen now, I'm not exactly going to college but this story has literally haunted me for years. The idea of fixing it, while enticing, includes way too much time and energy than I'm willing to put into it, mostly because any energy I have is going into the job I have so that I can even afford college these days.
But I can't let this story stay up for much longer, it's one of those cringey fanfictions that literally make you want to stop reading altogether, trust me. A 'omg so random' fourteen-year-old had written it. And had planted and referenced serious themes without much explanation or had even considered how serious murder or rape is in a story and hadn't even given the characters much development time or screen time for the matter.
So in short, I'm putting this story to bed. I've moved past the Vlad Todd Chronicles, as I'm sure most of us have, even Uncle Zac. He's doing wonderful things with his life and I wish him the best in the years to come.
Not too long after this note has been posted, (I'll give it a couple weeks to be read and processed), I'll take the story down. Mostly cause with my time, I don't even write anymore. I literally wake up, go to work from 8am to 5pm, go home, maybe eat, shower, go to bed. And weekends I literally count up my savings, pay the bills I have to, and try to enjoy what family I can. I don't play video games as much as I wish I can, and I have very little interest in even reading normal books, let alone fanfictions that I once loved.
I'm sorry to those of you wishing for this story to be fixed or wishing for a continuation, but I think the five year gap spoke for itself. And I also thank those of you who had read this, for helping an imaginative fourteen-year-old go through rough times in what ways she could even if it meant stuffy fanfiction with mediocre writing and poor grammar and plotline. Trust me, your reviews had not gone to waste and I promise my writing has gotten better, I graduated high school even haha.
Apologies and Thanks,
Alex/Alice
