Disclaimer: I do not own Stargate SG1

A/N: I've finally started watching Stargate (I'm almost done with season one), and, well, I always get inspired while watching new shows, so, I was inspired to write this. "Thor's Hammer" just begged for some Teal'c and Daniel friendship pieces...Enjoy!

We'll Find a Way

Daniel leaned his head against the cool metal of his locker, closing his eyes and heaving a heavy sigh as the day's events caught up with him. He felt so drained, so empty. He'd finally found a way to bring Sha're back, and he'd been forced to destroy it. Forced to choose between Teal'c and Sha're, between his friend and his wife, a decision he wouldn't have wished on his worst enemy.

The heavy thud of footsteps on concrete reached his ears and Daniel quickly straightened up, closing his locker with a flick of his wrist. He turned to the door and found Teal'c gazing at him with an almost curious expression.

"You gave up much to save me, Daniel Jackson," he said, stepping forward. Daniel could only nod, he didn't trust himself to speak. "You had the means to save your Sha're and O'Neill's Skaara, and you destroyed it."

"Yes, Teal'c, I know," Daniel said, his voice sharper than he would have liked. "I was there, remember?"

Teal'c nodded slowly. "I do not understand," he said.

"What?" Daniel asked, tilting his head to the side and studying the Jaffa.

"I do not understand why you destroyed such a device," Teal'c elaborated.

"You would have been trapped if I hadn't," Daniel said shortly.

"I was willing to remain."

"We couldn't just leave you there, Teal'c. "You're one of us." Daniel paused, looking the Jaffa in the eye for a moment before completing the sentence. "You're our friend…my friend."

Teal'c nodded slowly, though Daniel was sure the Jaffa still didn't understand entirely.

"What of Sha're and Skaara?" Teal'c finally asked. "You no longer have a way to save them." Daniel sighed, thinking over Teal'c's words. As far as he knew, they were true, and he wasn't sure if he was ready to face that particular fact yet.

He swallowed and closed his eyes for a brief moment, drawing in a deep breath as he tried to think of an answer. Finally, he opened his eyes and again caught Teal'c's gaze.

"We'll find a way, Teal'c," he said. "We'll find a way."
