Clear blue eyes. Pale skin. Blond hair. Perfect.
Harvey visited Him every day after work, always driving very carefully, weaving through city traffic, making his way out into the suburbs and then the wooded areas, finally parking at the northern edge of the nature preserve before he made his way down the familiar, deserted forest path.
Him was there for him, waiting. Patient as usual. Beautiful as always. Pink lips turned dark and cold. Clear blue eyes. Pale skin. Blond hair.
Perfect.
Harvey knelt down next to Him, brushing away the leaves that had drifted over Him from the wind. Harvey smiled at the way Him looked at him, openly, trustingly. Him would never look away, never lie to him, never betray him, not like She had. Him was more beautiful than She was, even if She's hair burned red like fire, like blood — but She had left him, and Harvey could never forgive that.
It had happened a month ago. Harvey had been coming to see She, like he always did, like a lover always ought, but when he arrived, She was surrounded by other men. Many men. Men with guns and vests and equipment, and they were prodding She and — worse — She let them.
But Him would never do that. Only Harvey could visit Him, touch Him, caress Him.
Harvey sighed and ran his fingers through the soft blond hair again, leaning close, gazing into Him's eyes.
"Hello, love," Harvey murmured, and flicked away a maggot from the edge of Him's hairline. "I missed you so much."
