"Don't worry Mariko, everything will be better now," Hiei said, holding his love in his arms. The girl let out another sob and pressed her face into his chest. She shuddered a little and looked up into the blood red eyes of her lover. She pressed her lips gently against his and then pressed more firmly. Hiei looked down at her as he returned her kiss. He led her to the bed and laid down while gently pulling her on top of him. He kissed Mariko's forehead and wrapped his arms around her lower back and rubbed it slowly. "Cry as much as you need," He whispered to her as she wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned her head under his chin. Mariko soon stopped crying and fell asleep ontop of Hiei. He rubbed her back as she slept and started to look back on what had happened earlier that day. He remembered walking through the forest and hearing a horrifying scream. He immediatly ran towards where he heard it come from. He stopped and saw Mariko in the hands of two male demons. Her shirt had been torn off her body and was in peices on the ground. The demon holding her from behind was tearing off her bra and running his tounge around her neck. The demon in front had succeeded in ripping off her pants and was forcing himself into her while playing with her breasts. Mariko let out a terrified scream and he forced his tounge into her mouth and started kissing her. Hiei was shocked as he watched his loves virginity being stolen from her before his eyes. She had said that she wanted him to take her and now that would never happen. In an unstoppable rage Hiei had taken out his sword and killed the two demons. Mariko fell to the ground and curled in a ball while crying and shaking. Hiei walked over to her while wondering why she hadn't used her powers to stop them. He them saw the wards that they had placed over her. Mariko's clothes all lay in pieces on the ground so Hiei took off his coat and knealt down to put it on her. But when he touched her she shook violently and yelled, "Get away from me!"
"Don't worry Mariko. It's just me. Everything's fine now." He whispered gently. At the sound of her koibito's voice she relaxed a bit and wimpered, "Hiei? Is that you?"
"Yes, it's me."
"Oh, Hiei-koi, thank you for saving me." She tried to get up but yelled in pain as she fell back down. He gently picked up her body and wrapped her in his coat. He then started running towards Genkai's temple with her cradled in his arms. When they got to Genkai's, Yukina healed her and got her some clothes to wear. Hiei snapped back to reality as she stirred in her sleep. She started crying out, "No, please...stop...please...don't, help, someone...HIEI! HELP!" She woke up with a jolt and realized where she was. Her body was drenched in a cold sweat and she shivered. Mariko then felt the arms of her koibito wrap around her as she looked in his eyes again. Tears were streaming from her eyes as she kissed Hiei's lips again. Hiei ran his hand through her hair as she kissed him passionatly. She had never felt this happy in her life. She was with the one person that she truely cared about and she never wanted to leave. She loved the Forbidden Child and she knew he returned that love. After they broke the kiss she whispered into his ear, "I love you, Hiei-koi, I always have and I always will." Hiei smiled at her andd whispered in her eat, "I love you too, Mariko-koi, and I promise that I'll never leave you." Hiei rubbed her back as she rested her head against his chest and fell asleep. Hiei look down at her sleeping form and noticed that he and she both were covered in the moonlight that shone brightly in the pitch black sky. He smiled at this and closed his eyes. He too was soon fast asleep and dreaming of the love that he and Mariko shared.
