Ship/Setting: Lisbon/Jane - after the epic dance. Fluff alert!
Summary: Lisbon was in her happy place. After all, it was an amazing day.

"Just remember to smile! Smile! Smile! That's good enough staaaaart..." Lisbon was singing at the top of her lungs and it was liberating. No one could see her anyway; she was driving home in the middle of the night after a long day at work. Jane didn't need a ride so she got in, turned the radio on and sang along to each song she heard, not caring whether she knew the lyrics or not. She was in her happy place. After all, it was an amazing day, or evening actually. Better yet - an amazing two minutes. Or was it 90 seconds? She didn't remember, all she knew that it was amazing. She smiled. Big time.

She was still smiling when she put the keys in the door and entered her apartment. She took off her new coat which she bought over the weekend; she was slightly disappointed Jane hadn't noticed as he was usually so perceptive! She hated shopping, but it would've been worth it if she had gotten him to give her a compliment. As much as she disliked his cheekiness when others were around, she secretly liked it when he gave her a compliment in private. "I guess that comes with the crush" she mumbled to herself as she kicked off her boots and walked into the kitchen to make herself a cup of tea.

"Can't you see how happy we would be…" she softly sang as she poured the hot water in a cup, the song reminded her of her grandmother, who always sang it when she was making tea for her guests. "Tea for two" the song was called. It didn't surprise her at all that it also reminded her of Jane, she wasn't much of a tea drinker before she met him and she made a mental note to give him a tea set for his birthday and to tell him the story of her grandmother. "He'd enjoy it, he seems keen to learn more about my private life and that's what I should give him" she told herself firmly, although she knew it would be difficult on her to open up.

As she brushed her teeth she giggled and nearly choked, which made her burst out laughing. It wasn't the act of brushing her teeth that was so funny, but the thought of something she said to Jane earlier that day "go to hell; take a toothbrush!" Where did that come from? A toothbrush? Do they even use toothbrushes in hell? She had no idea, but it made her giggle. And the pencil? Why did she throw the pencil at him? It felt like 4th grade all over again- Jane definitely brought the playfulness out in her and she didn't mind at all. She actually really liked it; it was nice to do some harmless flirting in the office. Or was it more than harmless? She wasn't sure and didn't want to think about it. Not now.

She went to bed and felt the exhaustion taking her over. It had been such a long day, not just the case that took a lot out of her, but also the emotional roller coaster she felt she was in. It wasn't bad though, she was in a happy place and she couldn't stop smiling. The dance was amazing; she felt so comfortable, so at peace with him. She couldn't describe it. Or perhaps she could - it was more than words.
