I was bored so I wrote this really fast. Hope it's alright. :)
James lies in his bed, staring at the ceiling.
He feels as though the world is crushing in on him, stifling his breaths, compressing his chest.
Everything is falling in on him.
She said no.
Again.
Why?
He thought he'd been different this time, he thought it would work.
Sirius told him it wouldn't, but he hadn't believed him.
He should have.
Sirius was usually right about these things.
He takes in a deep breath, then sits up fast, trying to knock the weight off.
He turns on the light. The darkness isn't helping.
He looks around the room, searching for something, anything to take his mind off this pain.
He hears a cough.
Who would be up this late?
He jumps out of bed to investigate.
He creeps down the stairs and peeks around the corner.
Lily sits with a book in her lap.
Her head is bent over it.
Her hand is covering her open mouth in shock.
He grinned
His heart unclenches, the pressure lifts.
He hears a page turn eagerly.
He contemplates going over there and snogging the living daylights out of her.
Oh yeah.
She's mad at him.
So, not tonight.
He yawns.
He heads back up the stairs with a smile on his face.
He'd come up with a new plan, maybe break through her defenses some more.
Lily is worth it.
She'd figure it out soon enough; they were meant for each other.
James crawls into bed with a smile on his face, and drifts off to sleep, his dreams filled with emerald and red.
Do you love this as much as I do?
No?
Oh well.
How do you feel about that?
;)
