This is an old story of mines from an old account. Doing a thorough rewrite and repost. This story means a lot to me so I couldn't just let it go.

Summary: The earth shook, her mind fractured. The earth burned, she was forged. The earth rejuvenated, she awoke.

Dragon Age: Rejuvenation

Prologue

"And so is the Golden City blackened. With each step, you take in my hall. Marvel at perfection, for it, is fleeting. You have brought Sin to Heaven. And doom upon all the world." ~ Canticle of Threnodies 8:13

"The chantry teaches us, that it is thee uberis of men that which brought the darkspawn on our world. The mages have sought to usurp heaven, but instead, they destroyed it. They were cast out, twisted and cursed by their own corruption. They returned as monsters, the first of the darkspawn. They become a blight upon the lands, unstoppable and relentless. The dwarven kingdoms were the first to fall. And from the deep roads, the darkspawn drove at us again and again until finally, we neared annihilation. Until, the grey wardens came. Men and women from every race, warriors and mages, barbarians and kings. Grey wardens sacrificed everything to stem the tide of darkness, and prevail. It has been four centuries since that first victory. We have kept our vigil. We have watched and waited for the darkspawn to return. And those who once called us heroes, have forgotten. We are few now and our warnings have been ignored for far too long. I might even be too late, for I have seen with my own eyes what lies on the horizon. Maker help us all..."

"Ar lasa mala revas"

She felt like she was on fire. It was like hot lava was coursing through her veins, scorching underneath her skin. She could hear a voice chanting words she didn't understand. The only thing her mind could register was the pain.

"Ir abelas"

A loud crack resonated within her mind and she was a blank slate. She felt cold suddenly and shivered from the instant cold that seeped into her bones.

"Ir abelas, ma vhenan"

Her body lay drenched in that icy darkness but her senses were active. She could smell the fresh wood of a forest. She could hear the sound of animals. She could taste the sweet air.

"Mala suledin nadas"

Suddenly, warmth filled her entire being and emerald greens opened for the first time

"Ar lath ma"
