"…I swear I'll kill you."
Her words continue to reverberate in my head. Why, at that single moment, did I actually believe her?
Sure, anyone could said it, but whether it was her cold tone of voice or the strange vibes I was getting from her pressing stare, but I strongly doubt I would be able to take her on.
I nodded and watched her saunter away, first slowly then quickening. She's too thin, too delicate to fight off anyone almost twice her build.
But yet I still believe her.
I suddenly don't want to risk it. I'll tell Francie we have to wait.
But I'll never admit why.
Never admit how little Sydney made me feel.
Scared.
