Hey! Hope you like what I got so far, I had this idea in my head and had to type it before I lost it. This chapter is short, but the other ones will be longer (I HOPE).

She paused for a moment, and picked up her ring. The diamond sparkled in the candlelight as she slipped it on her finger.
"Might as well wear it."
She tried to read more from her book. She didn't feel up to it, not after today's event.
Not any small event. The biggest news she would ever hear in her life. She felt so useless,
as if she had no say in her fate.
"Mother, why must I marry? I am barely 13. I just turned 13. Mother?"
She did not respond, and turned the page of her aged book. She had read it so many times.
She could recite chapters - the whole book, in fact.
"Mother!"
She looked up. "Yes?"
"Why must I marry him? Money is no problem, seeing as we live in this cas-"
BANG. BANG. BANG.
The next noise was what sounded like a wooden object falling to pieces. "What..?"
"The closet. Get in the closet. NOW!" Her mother seemed tense, and very worried. "GO!"
"Mother, I refuse to leave without you!"
"I will come."
"MOTHER!"
BANG.
"NOW!"
BANG.
"MOTHER!"
They ran to the closet, shutting the doors and quieting their breath.
BANG. They heard footsteps.
They heard noises of a - what was it? She didn't know. Did her mother?
After a few minutes of silence, her mother spoke.
"Do you still wish to stay?"
