A Fractured Fairy Tale

Once upon a time, there was a commoner named Clark and a peasant girl named Chloe who
lived in the kingdom of Smallville. An evil sorcerer by the name of Lex put a spell on them to
keep them apart. Princess Lana, who'd had a tragic life because when she was a baby, her parents
were killed when the drawbridge fell on their carriage and crushed it as they were waiting to
cross the moat, always came between Clark and Chloe.
But one day, the inquisitive Chloe learned a big secret about Clark. The evil sorcerer
Lex desperately wanted to know this secret, so he kidnapped Chloe and locked her in a tower in
his castle. Then he cast a spell on Princess Lana to make her believe she was in love with Clark,
so she would keep Clark occupied and he wouldn't come looking for Chloe.
After weeks of futile attempts, Princess Lana finally got Clark to kiss her. But the kiss
broke Clark out of the spell because he realized it wasn't the same as the kiss he'd once gotten
from his dear Chloe.
Clark went to the usual places Chloe would be; first to Ye Ole Coffee Shoppe, then the
meeting hall of the Candle, where Chloe often wrote on her scroll. Then he checked his loft to
see if Chloe was waiting for him there.
When he had not found Chloe in any of those places, Clark went to ask Pete, the town
jester, if he knew where Chloe was. But Pete could not tell him anything, for he had already
spoken his five words for the day.
Passing the evil sorcerer Lex's castle, Clark saw Chloe through the wall of the tower
with his special vision. He started to tear down the castle wall to get to her. The evil sorcerer
Lex came out and screamed, "Don't break my castle! It's a family heirloom! It was imported from
Ireland stone by stone!"
When Clark finally broke through the stone wall, he fell to his knees, gasping for
breath.
Chloe, knowing of Clark's big secret, kicked frantically at the magical green rock to get
it away from him. It flew up and hit the evil sorcerer Lex in the head, at which thick brown hair
sprouted from his beautiful bald scalp, stripping him of his powers forever.
Clark freed Chloe from her chains, and she started to yell at him for taking so long to
find her. He silenced her with the kiss they'd both been waiting for so long. When it ended,
Chloe exclaimed, "Oh, my mouth tastes minty!"
And they lived happily ever after.

THE END

A/N: The title came from Rocky and Bullwinkle before anybody asks. Vince co-wrote this with his sister, the one who got him to write "What She's Missing." Of course it's the same one, she's the only sister he's got.
