Chapter 1: Breaking your dreams
(Yuki's point of view)
I woke up with a start, my Pureblood senses going wild as I heard people yelling upstairs. Leaning over my bed I peeked at my clock.
It was midnight, so why were people yelling?
I quickly looked up at my door as I heard it creak open. Then I heard small footsteps coming down the stairs and then a little girl looked over at me with glowing red eyes.
"Yuki?" a little girl's voice penetrated my ears, making me sigh out and stretch out my arms saying
"Come here, Zima."
Zima ran at me, her older sister, and hugged me tightly around the waist. Sighing I looked down at my sister's dark brown eyes, her brown, almost black hair, falling in her innocent face, as she held on tighter to me.
"Mom and Dad are fighting with a guy they called Rido."
My eyes widen as I heard our Mom yell
"Get out of my home Rido Kuran!"
Smiling down at my 5-year-old sister I told her as I stood up, with her in my arms.
"Stay here while I go and see what's going on OK?"
Zima nodded as I put her down and under my covers. My long light brown hair falling over my shoulders as I gently kissed Zima's forehead. She closed her eyes and I smiled, whenever she was scared, she would come to my basement room and stay with me till morning. I straightened up and saw that my short dark red nightgown was all messed up, you could see my breasts, which I took pride in, as I fixed it to where you can not see everything. I heard a crash come from above making me flinch and Zima whimper in fear. I looked at her and told her as I pulled down my nightgown so it didn't show this Rido person my round ass.
"Stay here, and don't leave until I come for you."
Zima nodded as she hugged the covers to her small frame. I turned from her and quickly ran up the stairs. I opened my door and stepped out into the brightly lit hallway, I blinked a few times as I got used to the lightning. I gently closed my door and walked towards the screaming.
"Juri-"
Yuki heard a man speak and then a smash from a plate breaking... I ran into the kitchen and saw my Mother up against the kitchen counter as my Father had his hand around this man's throat. The man had red hair and one blue and one red eye. Anger rushed over me as I yelled
"What the fuck is going on here?!"
Everyone looked at me with shocked expressions but as the man known as Rido looked at me, I saw the lust and desire in his eyes.

I suddenly felt like I should have changed into pants and a baggy shirt. My Mom ran over to me and pulled me close to her, as she sobbed. My eyes widen as I hugged her back tightly and asked
"Mother? Whats going on?"
Right when I finished asking that I smelled that man's scent on her, I smelled her fear, her confusion, pain, and happiness at seeing me. I slightly pulled back and saw that she was beaten, and slowly it came all together. My Mom came down to get a snack or something, but this Rido guy came in and tried to rape her. Papa got worried when she didn't come back right the way and went down stairs, to find this man trying to rape Moma. He got mad and pulled him off of her and they started yelling, waking up Zima and me.
I knew my reds turned a bright red because everything around me turned red. I felt my fangs extend pass my lips and stopped towards my chin. A fierce animal growl escaped my mouth as I looked at this man who seemed to be very amused.
"You think that trying to rape MY Mother is funny?!" I screeched as I let go of my Mom and stalked over to this man, who I didn't know.
"Well, yes. I find your anger to be quite sexy too," he told me as he smirked at me and winked his blue eye.
My Father growled at him and threw him against the wall next to him, his grip around the man's throat tightened as he told him calmly
"I will kill you."
Rido laughed and the next thing I knew was that I was somewhere outside, in the cold night, and pressed up against an alley wall behind me. The man's hands started pulling up my nightgown, I felt his cold hands against my skin and I kicked him in the nuts. I then tackled him to the ground and rolled over on my side, I got up and ran out in public screaming
"Help! That man kidnapped me and is trying to rape me!"
A policeman and his partner looked up at me and watched Rido tackle me to the ground, they pulled out their guns and aimed them at him and one yelled
"Let her go Rido!"
Rido stopped moving his fangs towards my neck and looked up at the officers. Which apparently were Vampire Hunters, as I caught a glimpse of their hunter weapons. While he was distracted I kneed him in the nuts AGAIN and pushed him off of me. He groaned in pain as he landed next to me, I rolled away from him and tried to get up by myself, but I screamed in pain as my leg suddenly broke. I started to fall but a man with silver hair caught me and helped me to stand.
"Good work Zero." his partner told him as he led me away from the man.
I looked at his partner and saw an eye patch on his (I think) left eye. I looked back at the man who had his hand around the top of my arm and saw that his eyes showed hatred and nothing else. When suddenly the name Zero dragged a memory to the surface. Zero and Toga were one of the best Vampire Hunters ever known besides the legendary Kaien Cross. I gulped as he helped me to sit down on the hood of their car.
I looked down at my leg and saw that you can see the bone, I gulped fearfully as Rido looked up at me and said smiling
"Your blood smells delicious young one."
I screamed again as my bone in my other leg broke. Toga shot Rido in the shoulder, but since he was a Pureblood he didn't die but instead just started bleeding. I feltgrowing anger flood my system as my legs healed themselves and I watched as my surroundings turned a bright red once more, my fangs extended to my chin and I yelled angrily
"You try to rape my Mother! And now you try to rape me! When will your hormones stop?!"
Rido laughed as he disappeared again, but this time before he could get me once more, I held on to the man called Zero. Zero pulled me to him and turned around in a circle so Rido ran into the car. I ran away from the two of them and towards Toga who pulled me behind him and aimed his gun once more at Rido. But a voice interrupted everyone
"Rido, I hereby order you to stop."
Rido stopped and so did everyone as we looked at the head of the Hunter's Association. Rido cursed and looked at me with rage. I gulped and took a step closer to Toga.
"This is not over little one."
Then he was gone.
I felt my body get weak but I stayed up right as the men all looked at me. It was then I noticed that my breathing was ragged and untamed as my chest heaved up and down. The President walked over to me and bowed down low.
"It's was our pleasure to help you miss Yuki."
My eyes widen as I felt my training take over my body. I bowed down to him in return and said breathlessly
"I thank you with my life."
I turned to Toga and Zero and bowed down low to them both and repeated it. Zero pulled me up and said roughly
"You do not bow to lowly Hunters."
I widen my eyes and said
"My Mother told me to bow to anyone who saves my life. And so I will do just that."
"Sister!"
The felt tiny hands tackle me to the ground and I moaned in pain as I felt someone sit on my back and gave me a crushing hug around the neck. I heard laughter from Zero, Toga, The President and my parents as I choked out
"Zima, get off!"
However, she didn't.
I reached back and pulled her off of me. I set her down in front of me and just breathed as I fixed my nightgown again, blushing a bright red as I realized that when she tackled me, my nightgown went up and showed everyone my red laced undies. But I made the blush disappear as I scolded her.
"You do not tackle another Pureblood even if they are family in public." I stopped and thought about it before saying quickly "You can only tackle anyone when they are trying to rape you and you are trying to get away. Otherwise do NOT tackle anyone."
I felt myself get lifted up and the next thing I knew was that my Mom was giving me a bear hug from behind me. Zima squealed happily and got me from the front. I let out an 'oomph' as she got me in the upper part, and most sensitive part, of my breasts.
"Mother, what (groan in pain) happened to 'do not show emotion in public? *Cough*"
She let me go but left me to fend off Zima as she tripped me and made me fall on my back. Zero chuckled as he pulled Zima off of me and helped me to stand up. Once more, I fixed my nightgown and mumbled to myself
"Note to self: Don't wear this to bed unless you are the only one home."
Zima looked up at me with an innocent look as she told me
"I'm hungry."
And now that I think about it, so am I. I bent down and picked her up and rested her on my right hip, the one closest to Zero and said
"I'll get you something when we get home, Squirt."
Zima yawned and rested her head on my shoulder before going to sleep. I sighed and turned towards Zero and extended my hand out
"Thank you for your help. I don't know what I would have done if you guys weren't there."
Zero looked at me and then at my hand before shaking it once and then dropping it like it burned him.
"Your welcome."
"I see, well I'll see what we can do."
Zero and I turned towards the adults and watched as Toga went in the car yelling for Zero. Zero went with him and soon they were off to save someone else. I then looked back at the President and saw as he went back into the building. Looking up I saw that we were right outside the Hunter's Association.
I felt like laughing.
"Rido sure is dumb," I whispered and then my Mom and Dad were right in front of me.
"Let's go home," Dad said and I never thought how much I missed those words.

I woke up and got up so fast that I fell out of bed. Today at school I had to be early! I ran over to my dresser and pulled out blue jeans with holes in them, and the light green 3 finger tank top. I then grabbed white socks, a black leather jacket that said 'I'm irresistible...' in white bold letters and then a pair of black leather fingerless gloves. When I put them on I saw I looked pretty good. I slipped on some brown boots that went up to my knees and then grabbed a comb and ran it through my hair twice. Once I felt presentable I ran up the stairs and then ran into the kitchen. My Mom looked at me and asked sweetly
"What's the rush Yuki? Did you forget that you're on break again?" she asked with laughter.
I had an apple in my mouth, my fangs piercing it with hate as I did an anime fall on the ground. And here I thought it was school and I had to practice playing the harp. My Moma laughed at me and helped me up.
"Besides, it's 5:00 in the morning, if you went to school now you'll be the only one there."
I stood up and screamed in frustration.
"I hate this!"
My Mom was the only one who was up at this hour, so why was I awake? Because I thought for the 5th time in a row it was school.
"Then I'll go for a walk. I need to stretch my legs anyway, I'm wide awake."
Juri laughed and told me as I turned towards the exit
"Take Zima with you Yuki, she seems to feel better when you're near her."
I nodded and jogged up the stairs and towards Zima's room. When I opened the door I looked in and saw that she was awake and she had her favorite stuffed animal in her small hands. I smiled as she played with the pink horse she called Pinky. Zima looked up at me and smiled yelling
"Big sister!"
I bent down and scooped her up in my arms.
"How are you doing Squirt?"
She frowned and said
"I'm hungry."
I smiled and nodded my head at her. She smiled and kissed my cheek. I felt some of my energy leave me and when she pulled away I smiled and set her down on her feet.
"Go get ready to go, we're going for a walk."
Zima screamed happily and ran to her dresser. I watched her for a min and felt deep sadness burn with in me. I want to have a baby, I want to live happily ever after with my soul mate, and want to go to college and be a dancer and maybe even a singer. But... will I be able to? This is my last year of High School. I was hoping to go to college while in High School, but I can't. My school doesn't do that program. But when I'm out, I might go to Cross Academy for College, I heard that they have a Vampire Class...
My thoughts were interrupted by a giggling girl as she ran up and jumped in my arms.
"Are you ready?" I asked her.
She nodded excitedly and I ran out of the room with her in my arms screaming
"And we are off!"
But as I ran down the stairs and then passed my door I stopped and asked her, as a thought to come to mind.
"Do you want to go somewhere and get something fun to eat?"
Zima looked at me with doe eyes and asked
"Really?"
I nodded and she nodded happily. I then turned back and ran into my room, she looked confused as I set her down on my bed and looked through my dresser. Zima looked around and saw a picture of a pretty man on the wall. She climbed off the bed and walked over to the poster and read the words on the bottom of the poster.
'Kaname Kuran.'
She smiled evilly and asked me as I pulled out my wallet full of 20's and what not.
"Who's that pretty man Yuki?"
I tensed and looked up at the poster. I gulped and ran at her, picking her up I ran out of my room, closing the door behind me.
"Promise not to tell anyone?!" I begged as I walked out of the house screaming 'see you later'. She looked at me with curious eyes and said
"I promise."
I breathed a sigh of relief and said
"He is Kaname Kuran, the strongest PureBlood Vampire in history. He's every woman's dream, or that's what they say anyway." I told her as I set her down on her feet, she was wearing a dark purple sun dress that had white kittens on it and wore white flip flops.
"You're so Kawaii!" I told her as I held her hand and started towards the park.
She looked up at me as we passed a few Vampire nobles. One had green eyes and blond hair, another had blond hair and blue eyes. And lastly there was one with orange hair and orange eyes, they had stopped talking and watched us pass them.
"Why are they watching us?" Zima asked.
I didn't stop as I said calmly.
"A Pureblood that is a girl is rare among Vampires. Seeing two at the same time is not what you call normal."
"Ohh…" Zima whispered and celled to them as we walked pasted the store. "Have a wonderful day!"
I rolled my eye's and was about to scold her when I felt something pull me towards the store. I stopped dead in front of the store window. I slowly turned towards it as if I was in a trance and touched the glass. The other Vampire's were watching my every move carefully for some reason as if they knew something I didn't. Zima didn't say anything as she looked at me with wonder. Of course, I had no idea why I was deron to the store. I could feel a strong pull to go in there, but I resisted. I closed my eye's and that's when I felt it. A Pureblood's aura, that was what I felt. It was strong, calm, and sure. It scared me. I pulled away from the window as if it burned me. I looked over at the other Vampire's and the one with blue and blonde hair nodded at me. I gulped and looked back at the store with utter fear.
Kaname Kuran was inside.
I was so excited! But then the fear overwhelmed me and I held Zima's hand tighter.
"Come Zima, let's… go to… Ihop. Yeah, Ihop, you'd like that won't you?"
Zima looked up at me and screamed happily.
"CAN WE PLEASE!"
I nodded and took a step away from the window. I knew the other Vampire's could feel my emotions. I knew they knew my fear was for my sister, and not for myself. They knew I was being pulled towards him.
They knew everything.
I was so overwhelmed that I stood there instead of leaving. Zima was being a good girl and just stood there, for a reason unknown to me looking at on of the noble Vampire's. I… just didn't want to go. I wanted to go towards him, like if I didn't, I would be swallowed up and never seen again. But as I felt his aura become aware of me, and start towards me, I felt my feet move by themselves. I was taking unsteady steps back, and was close to the road. Zima was making sure I didn't go into it.
Which I was grateful for.
"What's wrong sis?"
I could see his shadow as he walked more towards the door. I could sense his curiosity, but I was too scared to stay in the moment. I looked around to try and find anything I could use to get me and my sister out of there. Anything. But the Noble Vampire's seemed to be trying to make us stay. All the did was take a step towards us and one of them said.
"It's OK, he won't hurt you." I looked at him and saw it was the guy with green eye's.
I was quickly running out of idea's and watched in slow motion as the door slowly opened. I held Zima's hand tighter and closed my eye's, using my powers for once in a blue moon. I imagined that me and my sister was in a alley near the Ihop and then I felt my powers surround us in a whirl wind.
"Don't leave!" screamed one of the other Vampire's. "You have no need to fear!"
However, when I reopened my eye's, we were in a alley near Ihop. Zima was skipping around me and was humming. I felt my legs go weak and I fell. Zima ran over to me and asked.
"Are you alright?"
I felt disappointment at myself come over and I whispered as I hugged myself.
"Yeah, fine."
She gave me a look that said she didn't believe me. But, the sad thing was that I didn't believe myself. I got up and said
"OK, we're here, let's go in."
Zima smiled and took my hand as we exited the alley and went across the street to Ihop. We went in and got a bouth faster then I would have thought. Zima ordered pancakes with a smile on them, and I ordered French Toast. I got water and Zima got punch. She was sipping it happily as I looked out the window, my chin propped up on my right palm. Wondering what Kaname Kuran would have been like if we stayed.
Kaname's point of view:
I walked out of the store with bags in my hands and looked right were the Pureblood's would have been. Akatsuki, Aido, and Takuma looked at me with sad eye's and said.
"Sorry, we tried to tell her you wouldn't hurt her."
I frowned and said as I walked away.
"I don't know what I would have done. There are only 5 known female Pureblood's today in age. Must have been one of them." (Juri, Yuki, Zima, Kawaii, and Shizuka)
Aido ran up to me and said happily.
"Well, she was a teenager like us, and had a little sister. Brown hair, brown eye's for the older one, while the little one looked like she had black hair and dark brown eye's. Does that ring a bell Kaname?"
I nodded and said as Tukama and Akatsuki caught up to us.
"Yuki, and Zima Eldon. Their parents are still alive and since they are having the most success with having girls, the Council wants them to continue to have children. However, as of late, Juri has been have a bad time getting pregnant."
"That's sad…" Tukama said sadly.
"But that doesn't explain why Yuki Eldon was so scared of you Kaname." Akatsuki said confused.
Kaname gave them a small smile and said, "If you were in her position, would you be scared of a male? Especially, one as strong as me."
They all made an 'o' with their mouths and nodded. But as Aido nodded he stopped.
"BUT YOU WOULDN'T HAVE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF HER!"
"She doesn't knew me, and therefore has no idea how I do things. All she knows is that I'm the strongest Pureblood in history. Nothing less, nothing more."
They all looked down and thought as Kaname continued to walked away from them.
'I hope Lord Kaname can win over one of the Pureblood's hearts. Or else he might not have his soulmate.'
Yuki's point of view:
I smiled at the waiter as he sat down our food. He smiled and winked at me saying huskily.
"Here you go. Please enjoy, call me over if you need… anything."
I kept my smile up and said through my teeth.
"Of course, thanks."
He walked away and I took a deep breath. That man was freaking, and I don't trust him. Zima started to eat her food and said after a while.
"Thank you Yuki."
I smiled at her and said, "You're welcome. Hurry up so we can go to the park OK?"
She nodded and went back to eating. I looked down at my food and sighed. I wasn't hunger, but as I ate a little of my food, I knew I had to eat something, or else I would have a hard time with Kawaii. Kawaii was a Pureblood to, she was a girly girl that cared about romance and romance only, but as she was a loyal friend. I finished before my sister since I had a bigger mouth. THe waiter came over and took my plate away and "Casually" gave me a piece of paper. I opened it up and saw that it was a note. It said, '"Here's my number. If you ever want to have a good time, just called sexy. I will be waiting…" I looked over at Zima and saw that she had fished. I crushed the paper and put it in her serup and said as I grabbed the bill and put a tip of a penny.
"Come on."
She smiled and grabbed my free hand as we went to the cashier. I payed but before we got out of the restaurant, we all heard.
"HEY MISS, YOU FORGOT THE PAPER!"
I kept walking like I have "No idea" it was me he was talking to. Once we were outside I picked up Zima and whispered.
"If you see him coming, let me know…"
She nodded, and wrapped her small arms around my neck and looked behind me. I felt her tense and whisper in my ear.
"He's coming…"
I felt my protective instincts come in as I felt someone touch my left shoulder and say out of breath.
"Hey, you left the paper with my number behind."
I turned and pulled out of his reach, my shoulder feeling like it was on fire as I said coldly.
"Well, that's because I don't want it."
He gaped at me and tried to get my shoulder again but a voice yelled out.
"Hey! Leave her alone!"
All three of us turned towards the car that looked like a police car and saw who yelled. It was none other than Zero in the passenger seat of Toga's car. I smiled as he said to me and Zima.
"Get in."
I nodded and put Zima down as I opened the door for her. Zima got in and I followed suit. I closed the car door and put my seatbelt on. I then did the same for Zima as I felt the car move.
"Thanks again. You guys are like my hero's. Last night and then this morning. You'd think I was always getting in trouble."
Zero rolled up his window and said, "Seems like it miss Eldon."
Toga gave him a look, and then asked me.
"Where were you going?"
"TO THE PARK!" Zima yelled excitedly. "So we can play!"
Zero looked back at us and asked confused.
"Aren't it bright out little one?"
Zima crossed her arms and said suborly.
"Sissy gets up at 5 all the time, even if school is out for break. And then runs to school, in the brightness of everything. Even if her grades aren't very-"
I cut her off by putting a hand over her mouth and scolded.
"You don't give personal information that doesn't belong to you to others!"
Zero snickered and turned towards Toga.
"To the park."
Toga nodded and turn right. I sighed in relief and looked out the window. I watched the passing scenery and said to Toga as he stopped at the park entrance.
"Thanks again, Toga, Zero. I don't know what I would do without you guys."
Zero got out to as I helped Zima out and said as he closed the door behind her.
"Just don't get in anymore trouble. We don't always go on pertral you know. Toga's undercover as a teacher and I'm a guardian at Cross Academy. So don't expect us to save your ass all the time."
I smiled and nodded.
"Of course."
I waved goodbye to Toga and Zero as we walked in the park. Zima ran ahead and played in the spring flowers. It was spring break, and that meant me going to High school would be over. I would then be going to Cross Academy, but they had yet to respond to my letter. I was hoping with every inch left inside me they would let me in. They had to best classes, and I was just so… envest of the Vampire's there. They had the best teachers, classes, uniforms you name it. I sat down under a tree and sighed in bliss. I was so relaxed, it felt like nothing could go wrong today. Or…. any day! I leaned against a tree and crossed my arms behind my head. I took a deep breath and closed my eye's. Would it be to much if I fell asleep? Na… I don't think so. I yawned and was about to fall asleep when I heard my name being called.
"MISS ELDON!" I heard Toga yell out in panic.
I sat up and felt both his, and Zero's panicked aura's. Zima had stopped playing and ran over to me as I got up in a hurry.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
I didn't say anything as I picked her up and ran towards Zero's voice.
"YUKI!"
"Here!" I yelled and stopped right in front of Zero.
He looked at me and then pulled me along with him as he yelled out
"TOGA, I GOT THEM!"
Toga came out of nowhere and said as he got on the other side of me and Zima.
"Good job Zero." He then turned to me and Zima and said, "I'm sorry to ruin your day Eldon, but there has been an accident at your home."
"W-What?" I choked out.
Toga nodded and said as we all got in his car.
"Yes, but we don't know what is going on. Only that we needed to take you home."
I nodded and moved Zima in my ap as she started to whimper in fear. She held onto me as I looked out the window. Toga was speeding with the alarm on and the lights flashing. I guess it was useful to looked like police. I sighed and tried to stay calm. But thoughts came in and started whispering in my ears.
"What if it's Rido again?"
"He did say it wasn't over."
"Is our parents dead?!"
Stuff like that. But as we got closer and closer to our home, I could see smoke coming from somewhere. I gulped and whispered to no one.
"Please don't be home…"
Zero looked back at me with sympathy in his eyes. I knew he could see the fear and worry in my eyes, but I didn't care at the moment. All I cared about was getting to my family as fast as possible. When we finally got there, I saw firefighters, and Vampire Hunters. I saw the fire raging and I turned and gave Zima to Zero.
"Please watch her." I said to him before I ran to the house.
I could see the Hunters trying to get in, but as I got closer, I could see that the fire was no normal fire. It was a fire caused only be Vampire magic. I felt my fear get stronger as I pushed past the Hunter's and ran in. I stopped in the living room and yelled out.
"MOM! DAD!"
I coughed and ran into the kitchen. I looked around and yelled
"MOM! DAD!"
I ran down stairs and saw that my room hadn't been touched yet. I didn't the first thing that came to mind. I grabbed my school bag, and started taking things that we were going to need. My money, school work and books, cloths, and a blanket. I then ran back upstairs and towards Zima's room.
"MOM! DAD!" I yelled again.
I didn't hear anything as I coughed and went in Zima's room. I got her school bag and work as well, her cloths, a blanket, her favorite stuffed animal, and then I left her room.
"MOM! DAD!" I yelled again.
"YUKI!" I heard my Mom scream.
I ran towards her voice and opened my parents room. I saw my Dad laying on the floor, lifeless. I felt my heart twist but I looked around and yelled
"MOM! WHERE ARE YOU?!"
"HERE!"
I ran in the bathroom in their room and stopped. My mom was also on the floor, but she held something in her hand. I ran over to her but she stopped me from touching as she said
"Yuki, your Father and I made this for you. And I hope you can forgive us… just remember, that we love the both of you, so much…"
"Mom…." I sobbed as I held her. "NO! MOM!" I yelled as she whispered in pain.
"Goodbye… my sweet daughter…."
I sobbed into her cold neck and whispered over and over.
"Why? Why did you have to die?!"
I stood up with her in my arms and put the thing she gave me in my bag. I then ran over to my Dad and started to drag him towards the door with my Mom. By the time I had gotten them out of the house, there was no chance to save them. However, the Hunter's took them from me and in the ambulance for Vampire's and started to try and save them. I cried my heart out, not caring who or what saw me do it.
Today, I lost my Mom and Dad.
Today, I lost everything but what I had with me and my little sister.
Today, I lost my dreams of happiness.
Today… was the beginning of my forever breaking dreams….
