~James POV~
I hate band. My mind moaned as I played the song we'd been doing forever. Urgghhh….
Suddenly the door to the band room was opened. Naturally, we all turned to see who it was. A girl, about 13ish walked into the room, her head lolling to one side unnaturally.
When she lifted it, twin glazed black eyes gazed over the room. They were empty and lost, completely unaware.
"May I help you?" Ms. Woode asked, stepping down from her podium. The girl smiled, but even that was empty, elastic.
"I believe you can." Her lips moved, but the slithery, horrible voice was in my head. Some girls covered their ears. Some screams echoed throughout the room.
She darted foreword, almost faster than my eyes could register. A loud clang echoed throughout the room.
Somebody blocked her.
My best friend, Hibiki, a transfer student, threw her back and held out her hand. Didn't she notice the horribly blood rip in her skin on her…chest?
"Haji, the sword." She murmured, and a man….WAIT! He wasn't there…never mind, I'll just continue….
Handed her a giant sword. Hibki's hand slid across it and red ran down it and onto the floor.
"What are you doing?" I yelled, standing up. Freaky girl removed her lips from Elizabeth's throat. Ok, creepy.
"Shut up!" Hibiki responded, darting behind Freaky girl. The tip of her blade pushed through Freaky Girls's chest. Blood ran to the floor and sprayed disturbingly outward.
"AUUUGGHHH!" Elizabeth!
I ran over to see her on the ground, blood running from a mark on her neck. Her head twisted
"No!" Hibiki cried, warning me. Why?
and her eyes glowed a violet red. She sprung up and grabbed my shoulders, slamming me into a wall. Blood trickled out of my head. Jesus, OW!
A disturbing grinding noise came from her stomach and she fell to the ground, immobilized in stone.
"You were bitchy anyway." Hibiki said, pulling the sword out of Elizabeth-stone-girl's stomach.
"You just killed her!" I gasped. Hibiki shrugged, then walked out of the room slowly, wiping blood off the red gemstone encrusted in the hilt.
"Hey!" I yelled, following her, ignoring the screams of my classmates as the quiet panic shattered.
"James, go back." She said slowly, signaling the man to leave.
"What the hell was that thing?" I exploded; annoyance hitting me hard at her ignoring the fact she just killed two people.
"A form of the chiropteran, descended from Amshell, also known as a demon." She said, shrugging, as a girl's voice yelled,
"Hibiki, we gotta run! As in NOW!" Hibiki turned, then yelled back,
"Dealing with a stubborn classmate! Gimme a sec!" She looked sad, and her brown-red eyes softened.
"A demon. Tell me the truth!" I snapped, rolling my eyes. Hibiki sighed.
"Listen, buddy, this is real! I'm not the stupid little delusional bitch you thought I was, ok? Jesus, I'm not lying! My life was fucking corrupted by one! My sister, uncle and I got thrown back into this shitty mess and everything got screwed up! I learned the truth about my dad, not something I needed to know, all from this freak show dude, Amshell!" Her eyes burned with hatred at an intensity I hadn't ever seen in a person before.
"He fucking survived, as he shouldn't have! My life is gaddamn hell cuz of them! I took over for my aunt, who, by the way, will be asleep for another who knows how many years! Well, around thiry, but I don't feel like subtracting my age from 30 right now! Look, these are my last words to you..sooo…" She said slowly, then leaned foreword and did the most bizarre thing ever:
She kissed me. When she pulled away, she said,
"I had a crush on you ever since we met. Bye, love you." She darted away.
"I will never understand girls."
