The Bookstore

"The conqueror and king in each of us is the . . . Knower of truth. . . . Let that Knower awaken in us and drive the horses of the mind, emotions, and physical body on the pathway which that king has chosen."
George S. Arundale

The arctic rain started pouring down like blood from an open gash; sticking Aria's already wet hair to the back of her neck. Aria began to quicken her speed as the rain came down harder; her house being more than 4 blocks away from her favorite Chinese restaurant Aaron took her to for her birthday. "Let's just stop here" suggested Aaron as he tried to catch his breath, having chased after her when the rain began.

"Seriously?" questioned Aria as she examined the front of what appeared to be a book store from 1800's.

"It's either this or we continue to walk, I mean sprint in the rain…" moaned Aaron.

"I guess it won't hurt if we're a little late." chimed Aria as she began to walk in.

The store had a strange feel to it, sort of mysterious. The room was barely lite except a few lights and a beautiful fireplace against an old rustic looking wall.

"Ok, is it just me or does this place smell like an old lady's living room?" questioned Aaron with slight humor in his voice.

"It probably does considering half of these book were written before you were even born" answered a women probably in her late 70's.

Aaron jumped realizing the woman was right behind him. How did she get behind him he wondered?

"You guys are more than welcome to look around but be careful, by the way my name is Ester, Ester Fairchild."

Aria began look around slowly weaving in and out of the tall mahogany bookshelves when something caught her eye. A beautiful leather bond book covered in large black swirls and curves. Aria took a step forward to reach for book when she tripped over her shoelace and almost fell.

"Wow your lucky I was standing there to break your fall." The boy chuckled

"Im sorry, thanks for catching me." Aria blushed and as she brushed her hair off her cheek.

"By the way I'm Gideon and you are….?'' He questioned.

"Adrianna Lunafey, you can call me Aria." She replied.

"Well Aria ,what made you interested in the Gray Book?" asked Gideon

"The what? … I just liked the pretty designs. "Aria replied

"Want to see something cool?" Gideon began

"With this book you can trace your family history back 2000 back" He finished as he grabbed the book and set it on the table.

" To unlock the Gray Book you must recite the Angels Legacy" informed Gideon.

"I don't know that"Aria answered

"I'm not surprised, it's in Italian and goes like this

Con Angelo Raziel Chiedo il libro di Gray di aprire la mia richiesta con il suo consenso." Gideon recited.

A bright yellow light shined from the book and the book open kind of like a robot at the top of the page it said Lunafey Shadow Hunters and under it were the names of all of my ancestors.
