Its all for the Book-
It had been some fifty odd years since the end of World War II, that great mass of destruction that swept across half the world.
I was an author in the prime of my career, fresh out of college, working hard to come up with an idea for a smash hit book. My strong spot all though school, besides my writing classes, had always been history. It had occurred to me that a travel round the world study of the war might make a good story. My classes had never covered the second world war, so I figured it would be a great learning experience for me also. I started to form travel plans in my head.
The places I could visit, the people I could interview, it would be wonderful experience, and at the end, hopefully make a publishable story. And I would record my adventures all the way.
That is exactly what I did. Here are the notes that I wrote down years ago, as I started my World War 2, fact-finding mission, across the world.

I went to my publisher with my idea today. He says its great, and is willing to help fund my trip. I also went to the bank, and started withdrawing some money. My plans call for me to leave within a week, at the most, if I cant get an earlier flight. Britain will be my first stop. I'm sure that there's a lot of things I will be able to find there. If all goes according to my current plan, I will spend nearly a month there, then head back to the states, for a visit to Pearl Harbor. After that, I am leaving the plan open, in case anything else comes to my attention.

I managed to get an early flight this week, so I am already on my way. As I'm writing this, we are somewhere over the center of the Atlantic Ocean. It is beautiful from way up here, but I'm not sure whether or not this headache I have is going to go away before the flight ends. I hope so.

Arrived in England late on the 8th, spent most of yesterday getting to know my hotel, and getting settled in. I am already looking for veterans to interview, and plan on visiting some of the key sites very soon. I should start writing again in a couple of days. I am sooo, excited!
