To love an Android

To love a man with no emotions,

to echo the cries of despair at loss

To watch him struggle day by day,

wondering if he'll ever feel whole

To see him marvel at the little things in life,

knowing he'll never be quite human

Seeing others judge him for what he is,

a machine with the face of a man

Not for who he aspires to be.

closer to us than we could imagine

A poor soul deemed to be a soulless being.

my poor, Dear Data

Feeling a loss with no emotion,

his one love dead, all others can mourn

Wishing he could actually die,

all despair, an android finally sheds a tear

And changes our world with his last goodbye.
