A quick little thing I wrote explaining how the Doctor ended up playing blind man's bluff

The Doctor was off to get Clara. He was more than excited to see her, he had promised her that he would live out the week like a normal person would have to, and it had been the longest week ever! He didn't know how normal people could do that all the time! Waiting around for the days to pass by was like torture to him!

He landed the TARDIS in his usual spot on the ground beneath Clara's room, and climbed out of his ship impatiently. He hadn't realized how much he had missed his cheery faced companion until he actually was going to see her again. He walked around the front of the house and knocked on the door, expecting Clara to answer, he couldn't help the huge grin plastered face. Which was why he was a bit taken aback when the tall dark-skinned man opened the door.

"John!" He gave a friendly smile "here to see Clara I suppose?"

"Oh yes " the Doctor responded bashfully, a bit embarrassed now by the facial expression he had had n when the man had opened the door.

"Come right on in then! She's upstairs in her room!" stepped back so the Doctor could enter the house. After meeting "John" on multiple occasions before, Mr. Maitland trusted him fully. The Doctor entered the home and proceeded to walk down the hall, and climb up the stairs. Clara's door was closed, so he knocked on the door gently before opening it.

He found Clara asleep on the floor

At first he was concerned, but he eventually figured she had just been overly tired and fell asleep on the ground. He smiled at the sight and left the room, closing the door behind him.

He found Angie and Artie waiting for him at the bottom of the stairs. "Doctor!" Artie called, obviously happy to see him.

"Angie, Artie! So great to see you! How's life been? Anything exciting?"

"Nothing exciting at all" groaned Artie "it's so boring when you're not here!"

"Well then I guess it's a good thing I'm here now!" He chuckled.

"Hey John?" The sound of Mr. Maitland's voice filled the home.

"Yes sir?" the Doctor called back, not even attempting to go looking for him.

"Can you watch the kids for a bit? I need to go to the neighbor's house to take care of some business!"

"Of course I can watch the kids!" the Doctor called back.

"Thanks John!" Moments later the sound of the front door opening and closing again signaled that the man had left the home.

"Well kiddos I guess it's just me and you now!"

"What about Clara?" Angie asked.

"She's taking a nap" the Doctor shrugged "what do you want to do?"

"Can we go to the cinema?" Artie pleaded.

"Yeah can we?" Angie agreed "there's this really good movie out right now!"

"We aren't going to the cinema until Clara wakes up!" the Doctor decided.

"That''s going to take forever" Angie moaned "there's nothing else to do!"
"We could play a game" the Doctor suggested.

"What game?" Artie asked, not looking interested at all.

"I have an idea!" Angie smirked "how about blind man's buff? You can be the blind man first, Doctor!"

"Oh I like that game!"

A half hour later Clara walked out of her bedroom to find the Doctor blindfolded.
