Interrogate the Victim

Disclaimer- I don't own HP.

"Miss Evans," Professor Dumbledore said seriously. "You need to tell us that counter curse. Mr Potter is distraught. He's threatening to jump off of the Astronomy tower." That was a bit of an exaggeration, but Dumbledore was getting desperate.

"No," Lily Evans said stubbornly. "It's his own fault."

Professor McGonagall frowned at her star student. "Miss Evans, this is very unlike you. Undo the hex now, or we'll be forced to suspend you." That was a bluff, of course. They wouldn't suspend a student for something like this.

Lily was forcefully reminded of one of those muggle interrogations, where there would be one hanging lamp that shone blue light over everyone giving people an unhealthy look, and a metal table while the interrogator would pace around, asking questions.

"Fine, suspend me."

McGonagall and Dumbledore exchanged looks. "How about you inform us as to what Mr Potter did to incur your wrath?" he suggested, rubbing his eyes tiredly.

Lily scowled at the thought. "He charmed a piece of mistletoe so that it followed me around all day."

"I thought it would be worse than that," McGonagall said, surprised at the normality of this supposed prank.

"It is," Lily grumbled. "Potter also charmed it so that he would be the only one able to let me out from underneath it."

"Ah."

"Ah? That's all you have to say? I spent the day running from mistletoe. In class, the mistletoe would catch up with me, so I'd be frozen in my seat until Potter kissed me. And to add something else, the charm made it so that it had to be on the lips! He could have mono!" Lily exclaimed angrily.

"Miss Evans, I'm sure that Potter doesn't have the kissing disease," McGonagall admonished.

Lily just gave the two professors a look.

"Miss Evans, this is your last chance. If you don't give us the counter curse, then you will be given a month of detentions," Dumbledore said firmly.

"I thought that you were going to suspend me?" Lily said innocently.

The professors sighed, though Dumbledore still had a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Miss Evans, a month of detentions, or the counter curse?"

"Headmaster, I'm the victim here. Would you want James Potter kissing you?" Lily challenged.

McGonagall threw her hands up in exasperation. "Fine! We'll wait until the spell wears off."

"Thank you," Lily said primly.

"But you still have a month of detentions."
