Hermione got up from Harry's lap and walked into the other room, while he went to take a short nap. She sighed watching him walk away; he was what any girl would want; sweet, kind, "the boy who lived" and not to mention he was pretty hot. "Your so LUCKY!" some of her friends had said, someone any girl would want; any girl but her. She wanted something or rather someone else, but she couldn't have him and the worst part was she knew she couldn't even try.
That was when the tears started to stream down her cheeks and dropping to the floor from her chin. She tried to wipe them away but they came down faster still. Giving up she picked up the phone and dialed his number.
Draco had just left Pansy to get a glass of water and some snacks when the phone rang. The caller ID said it was either Harry or Hermione. He sighed; it would probably be Harry wondering if he wanted talk about the war. He reluctantly picked it up and said "hello?" into the receiver.
Hermione tried her best to sound normal but all that came out was a half sobbed "hey"
"Why are you calling me so late? It's kinda hard to talk at the moment." He said to her.
She just let out a sob and blinked hard.
"Why are you crying? Everything ok?" he asked in a caring voice.
"I…I… I c-can't stop th-thinking ab-b-bout you." She managed to get out.
He was taken aback, about him? Didn't she have a boyfriend?
She impatiently waited for his reply, knowing it might not be exactly what she wanted to hear. Hell she wanted to hear him say he couldn't stop thinking of her, that he loved her more than anything he'd ever known.
"Does he know your talking to me?"
"No." she said somewhat startled.
"Good…" he paused and looked at the bedroom door; she couldn't hear him so what the hell, why not tell her? Tell her he though about her night and day, saw her face when he kissed his girl, and wanted her more than anything. He took a deep breathe.
"Draco?" She questioned, "You still there?"
"Well, my girls in the next room, sometimes I wish she was you, it's really good to hear your voice saying my name it sounds so sweet. Hearing those words it makes me weak and I never wanna say goodbye. Girl you make it hard to be faithful but maybe that's cause I don't want to be faithful to her, I wanna be to you."
She felt a smile dance across her lips, he had said even more than she had hoped he would. "Th-thanks." She mumbled.
The door creaked and Draco turned to see why, "Honey, who's on the phone?" Pansy asked.
"Harry" He lied quickly.
"Oh well tell him you have to go." She somewhat demanded.
He nodded…
"Mione, baby, who are you talking to?" came Harrys' voice from the living room.
"Just Ginny." She said hurriedly.
"Well call her back please."
"Sure thing"
"I have to go." Draco said to into the phone.
"Me to. Bye"
"See ya."
Draco set the phone down on the coffee table and walked back into his bedroom to find Pansy sitting cross legged on his bed, waiting. She smiled at him, a bright cheerful I love you smile. He gave her a half assed love you too smile in return. Why was he here with her? No answer came to mind and it didn't really surprise him. He felt a tear roll down the side of his face and failed to wipe it away before another one came.
Hermione put the receiver back on the wall and slowly walked back to Harry, trying to figure a way out of this, but in her heart she knew there wasn't one. No matter what she could never really be with him and she would never really know why. But at least in the end she knew he felt the same way to.
The END
