"Hey Cathy!" An exuberant cowboy shouted into the phone which his mum had dialed for him.
"Hey Cowboy! How goes it?" Cathy replied back, equally excited.
"Guess what I'm watching?"
"What?"
"BATMAN!"
"yay! Hold on!"
Cathy tugged on her mum's sleeve and pulled her mouth away from the phone, "Mum! Turn batman on!"
Reluctantly her mother obliged and changed the channel. A caped stranger suddenly appeared on the telly where the newsman had been only moments before.
"Yay batman! Oh boy I love this one!"
"Yeah so do I! It's the one where batman goes to the world's fair and then they get on that ride and then..."
In the background Cathy heard cowboys mum telling him to keep his voice down. He paid little heed to her complaints.
"…joker try's to kill batman with his laughing perfume…"
"But then batman dodges it and it hits joker's assistant!" Cathy cried out finishing cowboy's sentence.
"Yeah! Woops I almost forgot… Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you, you smell like a monkey and you act like one too! Happy birthday Cathy, my bestest friend in the whole wide world!"
Cathy giggled "thanks cowboy… I mean batman!"
She heard cowboy giggle as well on the other line, "yeah and actually I meant batgirl when I was singing, not Cathy."
"Yay! You're my batman, cowboy!"
"And you're my batgirl!"
"Are batman and batgirl married, cowboy?" Cathy managed to blurt out between giggles.
"They should be. Do you think they are?" she could tell cowboy was giggling too for his voice sounded giddy and cheerful.
"I think they should be. Cowboy…ahem…I mean batman, marry for me for my birthday?"
"ok! I'll be over at your house in 5 minutes. Make sure to wear your batgirl suit to the wedding!"
"and you your batman suit!"
Cathy heard the phone being dropped on the countertop.
"Mama, guess what! Im getting married to batgirl!" she could here cowboy shouting to his mum before running down the hall still crying out in a sing-song voice, "I'm getting married!"
