"My name is Rachel Berry Im sixteen years old and i'm the next Lima Beam" Rachel said plastering an all to fake smile on her face.
Staring out at the four Beauty Pageant judges that where critiquing her every move. She could not believe that her parents had talked her into this. She detested pageantry, she mocked toddlers in tiaras, and this was probably the last place any of her friends would think to find her on a Saturday afternoon. But her mother had tricked her into this months ago. Mentally Rachel reminded herself to never say yes to anything while she was drunk again!
As far as Shelby Berry was concerned this as punishment. Yes her little girl was a soon to be star but in no way was Rachel a pageant girl. Rachel was the kind of girl who in front of everyone was totally polished and fashionable while at home was happiest lounging around in sweats. One night she slipped up and the next thing she knew her mother had her registered for this horrible affair.
Now walking off stage Rachel started plucking bobby pins out of her over styled hair and rolling her eyes at her mother who had a sly smile on her face.
"Thank God this was only the welcome meeting I want to go home and sleep, why didn't you make Tana do this to she was just as messed up as I was." Rachel wined referring to her adopted sister. This made Shelby laugh.
"Because my dear Santana would have cut me " Now it was Rachel's turn to laugh her sister sure had an edge to her.
"Speaking of Santana we need to get her from Mercedes house mom" Rachel reminded her mom and they were off.
Even though Santana was the same age as Rachel she had inherited her biological mothers edgy tendencies. Rachel and Tana as they called her were only 2 days apart their mothers had been best friends growing up and were delighted to be due within the same week. When Shelby went into labor Santana's mother Michele soon followed. Shelby was heartbroken when she heard that Michele had died in delivery and seeing as Michele had no family Santana had been adopted by Shelby and Leroy Berry and raised as their own.
Rachel and Santana grew up best friends Rachel being the drama queen and Santana protecting Rachel with everything she had. Growing up everyone knew that if you messed with Rachel you would regret it.
Growing up the girls had a group that they always hung out with their mothers had all been in the same pregnancy class and had become friends. So Rachel, Santana, Kurt, Mercedes, Brittany, Puck, and Finn were inseparable. Of corse they also had other friends but these seven considered each other family. Through thick and thin.
