Sakura was on her way home from an Anbu solo mission, Tsunade had sent her to Suna to help establish their knowledge in poisons and antidotes. She had been there for a few months, and the Suna medics learned quickly. Sakura had wrote her shishou updates every night when she got home from the hospital. What she hadn't mentioned in the letters was that ever since she left Konoha to travel to Suna, she felt she was being watched but when she would try and pinpoint a chakra she was never able to pick up one. She tried pushing the feeling aside but her she was going on two months being in Suna and still had the feeling she was being watched. Sakura figured with no accurate information it'd be best not to mention it.
Sakura left at dawn since the travel was at least three days, Gaara thanked her for her services since Temari was off on a mission she wasn't there to help with the medics. Night had now fallen and Sakura searched for the best area to set up camp where she wouldn't be completely out in the open. Sakura found a small forest with a spring near it. She set up camp within the trees and tied explosive tags to the trees just to be sure. Sakura went to the spring to take a quick bath before she set up a fire for the night. Sakura still had the sinking feeling she was being watched, and heard a twig snap behind her. She quickly grabbed a kunai and waited, when suddenly a fox jumped out from the trees and walked up to the spring for a drink. "Oh jeez, now I'm just being paranoid" Sakura said with a chuckle and got out of the spring to dress and head for camp. What she didn't see was a pair of red eyes staring at her from the tree branch.
Morning came quicker than she had expected, she packed everything up ready to get home when she noticed something. All of the explosive tags had been flawlessly cut down. None of them had went off during the night because she would have woken up. The only way they would have all been cut without being disturbed was if someone had watched her put them up. "Fuck." Sakura whispered to herself. She tried sensing a chakra to see if anyone was still in the area around her. But once again nothing. 'Just pretend you didn't notice anything.' Sakura told herself. 'If I can just get close enough to home, I can make a dash for it.' She trekked on all day, no stopping. She knew stopping now could be the difference between life and death considering she still had no idea who was following her.
Night had almost fallen when ran into Nejis' camp. Literally. "Sakura?" "Neji! Oh thank god." "What's wrong? You look shaken up?" She had filled him in on every detail, including this morning with her camp. "We'll whoever was following you won't dare try something now that you're with someone else. Take my tent, I'll take first watch." "Thank you." She was asleep within minutes. She woke up to voices not too much later. "You will not take her. She won't go with you willingly." "Who said it had to be willingly, yeah?" "Haruno, I know you are awake. Come out." Sakura came out of the tent and the first thing she noticed was Itachi Uchiha and Deidara. As soon as she was out of the tent Itachi moved closer and Deidara grabbed Neji, and held a kunai to his throat. "What's it gonna be kunoichi, yeah?" Deidara smirked. "Don't do it Sakura! Run!" Neji told her trying to get away from Deidara. "You come with us or he dies." Itachi told her in a cold voice.
