''Goodnight, Nala.'' Zazu said as he had lead the young lioness to Pride Rock. ''Don't worry about Simba. He'll be fine.'' And with that, the hornbill took a flight off.

Nala was met by her worried mother, Sarafina.'' What's wrong, dear?''

''I nearly died today, mom.'' Nala said quietly and bowed down her face.

''What?''

''That 'waterhole' where we went wasn't the waterhole, it was the… the elephant graveyard.'' Nala sighed.

''But Nala, that's where the hyenas live!'' Said Sarafina, shocked, her eyes wide.

''I know, mom. It was Simba's idea.''

''Why did you follow him then? Why? You set your life into danger!'' Sarafins scolded her daughter with a frown.

''I know, mom, I'm sorry.'' Nala sighed.

''Sorry is not enough, honey! You know how sad I would be if I would lose you. You're my only child! Do you have any idea of how much I was worried about you!?''

Nala bowed her ears against her head. ''Sorry, mom.''

Sarafina shook her head in disappointment. ''Nala, really, I'm disappointed in you. You're better than that.''

''I'm sorry.'' Nala said again, and a tear fell from her eye.

Sarafina sighed and pulled her young daughter close to her. ''Nala, I'm only saying it because I love you.''

''I know.''

''I don't want to lose you. Not ever.''

''I know.''

''Nala, promise me you'll never go there again!'' Sarafina looked into her daughter's eyes. Nala returned it.

''I promise.''

''I love you, my daughter.'' Sarafina nuzzled her daughter, relieved. Nala nuzzled ber back and swore she'll live up her promise. And won't make her mother worried again.
