"Can I ask you something?" Emma asked as she quietly scrambled the eggs.
"Sure".
"Do you...believe in Magic?" She needed to know if he still believed.
"Of course". Henry responded instantly and Emma raised her eyebrows. "Really?"
"What and you don't?" Henry asked.
"No, of course I do I was just asking" She answered.
"I'll believe in anything unless there's proof that it's not real" Henry finished and Emma smiled.
"I'm doing this alone, I don't want to make it harder for him then it has to be" Emma told Regina as they were waiting outside their room at Granny's. Regina reluctantly agreed as Emma turned the knob and went in. "Hey kid" Emma said to Henry who was busy reading what looked like Harry Potter, again. "Hey Mom!" Henry said as he put down his book. "Henry...can I talk to you?" Emma asked awkwardly as she sat down in the empty armchair. "Sure, what's up?" Henry said. "There's something I've been keeping from you. And you're going to think I'm crazy or something. But Henry please just try and listen to me" Emma begged. "Ok, I'm listening" Henry answered as looked at Emma with curiosity.
"I haven't told you the truth of why we came to this town. It wasn't for my job and it wasn't exactly about your father but that did get in the way of somethings. The reason we came here is because of magic" Emma held her breath as she waited for Henry's reaction.
"What kind?" He asked. "Kind of what?" Emma said a bit confused.
"What kind of magic ? Harry Potter kind or like Star Wars using the Force kind?" Henry asked.
Emma wanted to laugh. Henry didn't even question if Magic was real or not he just wanted to know what kind of magic. "More like Fairytale Magic. But another reason why we came here is...because this is our home. We lived here" Emma responded. "Mom, now your acting crazy. We never lived here, we lived in Boston before moving to New York because of the fire, remember?" Henry said but Emma shook her head. "Henry there was no fire, you never lived in Boston but I did before you brought me here 2 years ago" Emma felt like time stopped around her as she slammed down the truth on her son.
"Of course there was a fire, what are talking about?" Henry asked.
"No, there wasn't. We were here, in Storybrooke" Emma replied as she tried to stay calm.
"Don't you think I'd remember living here?" Henry asked now getting frustrated. "You don't remember because of a curse. It made both of us forget this place" she didn't want to mention the curse but it slipped out.
"A curse?" Henry asked. "But that's not...I don't...how do you remember, then" Henry finally asked.
"Killian found me in New York and he gave a potion that made me remember everything. I wanted to tell you sooner" Emma had tears running down her face now. "Then why didn't you? You could've told me before we came here rather then pile everything on me now!" Henry yelled.
"I know and I'm sorry but me and Regina we wanted to do what's best for you" Emma cried. "Regina, the Mayor? What does she have to do with anything?" Henry asked.
Emma put her hands on her face and breathed in. She knew that this was important and that she had to tell him but she couldn't find the courage to do so. "She's your mother, Henry. Regina adopted you when you were only a few weeks old" Emma said in barely a whisper.
"Adopted? No, I've lived with you all my life. Mom, what are you saying?" Henry asked.
"You know how I got pregnant with you in jail?" Henry nodded "when I got out, I gave you up I couldn't keep you and be your mother." Emma cried.
"Can I talk to her?" Henry muttered. Emma paused for a second and nodded. She then got up from the armchair and walked out the door where Regina was still waiting.
