Over
Mary Camden and Wilson West were at the train station facing each other in silence. Mary had just asked Wilson whether or not they were getting married.
"Sorry, Mary, I don't think we should get married," Wilson said.
"Why not, Wilson?" Mary asked in disbelief.
"After seeing you kiss that fireman Ben, I can't trust you."
"Just give me a chance and I'll prove that I can be trusted."
"It's too late. We're over. I never want to see you again."
"You can't mean that."
Mary put her hands on Wilson's shoulder with her lips going towards his. Wilson jerked away from Mary as if her touch disgusted him.
"Just get away from me," Wilson said in anger.
"All right," Mary reluctantly agreed.
Mary walked away from Wilson. She headed for the payphone and dialed the Colonel's number.
Later on, Mary was sitting in the living room with Grandma Ruth and they were both drinking tea. Just then, Colonel Camden entered the room.
"Mary, what were you thinking kissing Ben when you and Wilson were planning to get married?" Grandma Ruth asked in disbelief.
"Ben and I were studying and before I knew it, we kissed, and then we kissed again and that's when Wilson walked in on us," Mary explained.
"Mary, Grandma Ruth and I were talking about you earlier and we've come to a decision," Colonel Camden said.
"What's that?" Mary asked with curiosity.
"It's time you made amends with your family," Colonel Camden said. "We even got a plane ticket for you which we put on your dresser."
"You're sending me back home?" Mary asked in shock.
"We've helped you all we could and you've done a great job," Grandma Ruth said. "We know you can make it on your own now."
"Mary, we love you and we'll be here whenever you need us," Colonel Camden said.
"The Colonel and I are going away for the weekend," Grandma Ruth said.
"You have until Sunday to get to the airport or we'll personally take you there," Colonel Camden said.
"I'll start packing tomorrow," Mary said. "Thanks for helping me out."
"You're welcome, Mary," Grandma Ruth said.
"Please let us know how you're doing and tell your family to do the same," Colonel Camden said. "That's an order."
"No problem, Colonel," Mary said.
Mary and Grandma Ruth stood up and the two of them, along with Colonel Camden, wrapped their arms around each other. They released each other a few minutes later and Mary left the room.
Mary was in her room packing her belongings. She decided to go back home to Glenoak the following day.
She wondered how her ex-boyfriend Robbie Palmer would react to her coming home for good. The two of them had broken up before the summer.
She also wondered how her parents and siblings would react. She also hoped they would give her a chance to prove that she turned her life around.
Mary finally finished packing and put her suitcases near the dresser. Then she got ready for bed, got into her bed, and fell asleep.
The End
