Hello guys! English, it is not my motherly language, I'm French so I apologize if there are some mistakes. Don't hesitate to tell me where they are so that I can improve.

This little thing was in my head for quite a while now and it gives me the occasion to wish to everyone a happy new year!

Summary: There is a difference between how a princess should react when her father bids farewell to her and how a princess should react when her father and king does so. And many people at court do not understand that. Based on S4 E10.

Regalness

All teh court could feel that the reign of King henry VIII was ending. The man was old and sick, he made his will and he said farewell to his sixth wife, Catherine Parr and to his children. Elizabeth's attitude made everyone gossip.

Some were quite harsh to the young girl.

' Did you see that? She did not even cry! Her heart is like a stone! Unlike the Lady Mary!'

' She's ungrateful! The King did so many things for her! It is not even certain that she is his daughter!'

Others were kinder.

' She acted as a true princess. With grace and dignity. King Henry must be proud.'

' We cannot blame her for wanting to act as a princess should. It is already hard for her. She has still to prove to everyone that she is a true Tudor, unlike her sister.'

What they did not know was why she left and what she did after. After her father left them, Elizabeth headed to her chambers, and there, she bursted into tears in her dear Kat's arms.

' Father is going to die! It is certain now! Father is going to die! I don't want him to! I love him too much! We have so many things to do together! I don't want him to leave!'

Kat gently hugged Elizabeth. Even if she was a princess, she was just thirteen and no matter what she knew about her father and him, she loved him with all her heart.

Like any daughter loves her father.
