Regarding the agony of Arwen Evenstar, she who remains immortal throughout all the ages of Middle-Earth, lingering long after her husband and son have died. (I know she actually passed after Aragorn's death, but it's so much nicer to write about her pain than her happily ever after.)

The Agony of Undómiel

With a sigh, you turn away

With a deepening heart, no more words to say

You will find that nothing in the world matters.

With sorrow, you look upon his cracked grave

With fondness, you remember how your life you gave

You were to be with him 'till the earth shattered.

With a tear, the light of the Evenstar dies

With a breaking heart, you believed all his lies

You have nothing left to live for.

With clarity, you remember your father's last words

With anger, he said, "He will die by time or by sword."

You had love, wanted nothing more.

With regret, you look across to the Undying Lands

With hope, you remained as the ships crashed upon their sand

You whispered to yourself, "Namarie."

With anguish, you watched your son age

With heavy hands, you scattered ash over grave

You will never fade, but remain beautiful in eternal misery.

With soft footsteps, your dead lover comes in

With ghostly feet that make no din

You scream as he says, "I am here."
