(A/N) Hey all...This is just a cute little one-shot that came to me after I finished my spanish exam. It's a very short read and i hope you enjoy it! R&R por favor!!
A small whimper drew the dark-haired man's attention. He paused and glanced around, searching for the source of the noise. He heard it again and peered under the bench near him. A pair of bright eyes looked back at him and he blinked in surprise. He dropped to his hands and knees and reached under the bench.
His hands touched long shaggy fur and gently, he lifted a small puppy into his lap. A rush of emotions swarmed through him as he watched the animal that was tentatively licking his hand. The resemblance between it and another black dog he knew was astounding. With a sigh he clambered back to his feet carefully cradling the puppy in his arms. It squirmed around impatiently and licked him right on the chin. He laughed.
"I suppose I'll keep you if you like me that much. But I think you're going to need a name." The puppy barked in agreement as the man let himself and his new roommate into the apartment.
He set the animal on the counter next to his keys and took a seat next to it. It watched him through its gleaming amber eyes, curiosity reflected in their depths. He stared back at the puppy, a single word, a single name on his tongue.
"How does Padfoot sound?"
The puppy barked and leapt to its feet wagging its long tail. In its exuberance, the little puppy's paws slipped on the slick countertop and it landed back on its stomach with a yelp.
"Padfoot it is then" He laughed.
