Everything has a Price

Your pale, fragile skin marred by purple, black and blue.

Dark circles under your beautiful sapphire eyes taunt me.

I'm so afraid of hurting you, of losing you.

You are Everything, but everything has a price.

Every time I touch you is another portion of strength gone, another smear of darkness on the light that is your health.

I try to help, but deep in my soul I know I am the reason for your suffering.

Despair claws at my heart, leaving it broken and bleeding, as you draw away from me.

Have we clipped your wings instead of helping you to fly again?

I watch as you struggle to sit up and can do nothing for fear of hurting you.

Everything has a Price.
