He stood alone by the edge of the balcony, looking over at the vast kingdom that now belonged to him and his siblings. Thousands of questions seemed to flood his mind as he looked over the sea, which beautifully reflected the setting sun. Was he truly going to rule this land? Was he truly going to forget his home and parents back in England? How could he just abandon them?

He had a life back in England. He had school, and a future job, and many more aspirations to fulfill.

But were those his aspirations to fulfill, or the aspirations of his parents? Maybe Peter was glad to be rid of them.

The young man took a deep breath in. Now was the time to decide. Did he really want all of this? Looking out at the beautiful sky, now almost dark, he closed his eyes, feeling the warm breeze dance across his face.

He knew that he and his siblings could not have found a more beautiful land than this. But there was beauty back home.

Not like this, a strong voice echoed from behind.

Peter turned around to face Him. The creature stood in His amazing stature, peering into Peter's very soul with His piercing eyes.

What if I can't do it? What if I fail and make all this land fall to pieces? The boy, so close to becoming a man, searched the Great Lion for an answer.

The only one who can make this land fall to pieces is me, purred the Lion. Do you really think you have the power to break the Magic of Narnia?

I don't have the power to do anything. The breeze on Peter's face turned cold, and the Lion seemed to grow larger in front of him, looking more terrible and wonderful as ever.

You can do all that I ask of you. And I ask you to rule My land. A forceful wind blew by, making Peter close his eyes.

As he opened them, he found himself alone again. He gazed into the sky, now filled with stars, and knew: One question was answered tonight.
