Authoress' Note & Disclaimer: Elathuria is an original character that was a maternal figure to Nora and Kaz as children, but is only the mother of Kaz. (Elathuria is a pretty name, isn't it?) This was written because the drawings of the dougen angel in the book Ai found at Shinjuku University Library could have been of a real angel - one that may even have had connections to some of the characters in the manga.
Oh, yes, and by the way, no: I still don't happen to own the Princess Ai copyrights. It's a darn shame, though.

There is no such thing as salvation, as Elathuria knows all too well. She will never be more than a source of tenketsu to humans, a prisoner who belongs to them in much the same way they want to grasp land and beauty in their greedy little hands.
The angel still wishes for salvation, however, because there is little else she can wish for that might even have the slightest chance of existence.
Her children, for example.
They were her own blood, a phrase which she found ironic.
Irony was one of the things she knew all too well, however, and only wished to wish it away.
Nora & Kaz.
Kaz & Nora.
Her children, although only one was truly her son.
She wonders if they remember her, but dismisses the idea for fear it won't become reality.
For Elathuria, a queen among dougen and criminal among humankind, that sort of fantasy was not the sort she would ever consider.
Fear was her sustenance now, and miracles no longer mattered - just another example of fairy tale magic.
She wants no part in it, because for her, magic does not exist.
