I saw the shadow of a dagger as it was violently, yet silently, thrust into the side of a screaming woman. The blood curdling screams came abruptly to a halt, the last of them echoing throughout the room. Her body went limp, never to be capable of movement again. Everything went black.
I shot up out of bed, sweating and panting. Clutching desperately onto the dark crimson colored bed sheets encompassing me, I started to slow my breathing, making it steady, deep, and slow. I looked outside at the full moon and remembered my nightmare. I started to cry quietly to myself and whispered, "Mom…" In the hopes that someone would hear my cries and come to comfort me, and make me forget the re-occurring dream that always pierced through my mind during sleep, leaving me disoriented and troubled. But, that someone never came, never heard. No acknowledgement. Just pain.
The next morning I was sitting at the kitchen table eating a breakfast of toast and a bowl of cereal. I was staring into space, my mind wandering, when out of the corner of my eye I saw my father approaching me. I snapped myself back into reality and look inquisitively over to him, head cocked to the side, similarly as a dog does when it hears something unfamiliar. He sat down across from me as I quietly munched on my cereal, patiently awaiting what he was going to say. There seemed to be something on his mind and he had a slightly grim expression etched into his face. He took a deep breath and let it out in a long, sad sigh. "You know as a death eater I have to go on certain 'business trips'?"
"Yes Father…" I said slightly confused. He always went on those a few times a year, lasting only two or three days.
"Well, this particular trip I've been specially requested to be present on and I'm going to be away for a long while, not sure about exactly how long. Mr.Malfoy had spoken with me and has kindly offered to watch over you for the summer. You will also be transferring to Hogwarts for the rest of your school career in order to make things easier for us. I'm very sorry about the short notice…but we are leaving tomorrow, so, I'd suggest you finish your breakfast and start packing." I could tell he was trying to be as nice and as sympathetic as possible, but I couldn't help feeling angry. I opened my mouth to protest, but he cut me off even before I could begin. "Akane, please. I've done my best with these arrangements and I'm positive everything will turn out to be fine."
"Alright…Whatever you say. I'll get going now." I got up and walked over to him and hugged him tight. I grabbed my plate and bowl off of the table and dumped them in the sink. I walked out of the kitchen and into my bedroom and started to pack. While rummaging through old junk and things I would need to bring with me, I thought to myself, "I guess I've always wanted to go to Hogwarts…but, I'll be leaving all my friends behind. I never even got a chance to say good-bye! Arrghhhh! I've never heard anything pleasant about Mr.Malfoy's son either…Everything everyone ever says about him is how he is nasty and uses people to benefit himself. Great.A whole summer with a spoiled brat.Just my luck."
Well...was this one better? Review if you would like...please
