Alice POV

"Does anyone know what - oh, Mr. Cullen? Is there something you need?" Mr. Banner said, frowning at the interruption of his lecture on the circulatory system.

Edward was standing in the doorway of the classroom, holding Bella's hand. He smiled at me.

"Mr. Banner, I'm afraid that Bella isn't feeling too well. The nurse asked me to take her home, so I had to come tell Alice."

I stood up, gathering my things.

"Oh, you don't need to come Alice, I just wanted to tell you that I was leaving."

I looked at him, frowning. I hadn't seen Bella getting sick, and I had looked into her future yesterday. "I refuse to walk in the rain, Edward. It will destroy my clothes." Is she all right? I asked him telepathically

He nodded slightly, still smiling. He let go of Bella's hand and put his hands in his pockets. "You don't have to walk, Alice."

I shook my head. "I came with you, and Rose won't let me in her car."

He threw a set of keys at me. I caught them, dumbfounded.

"Happy birthday, sis." he said, Bella grinning at me.

I raced to the window. There it sat, my dream car. A yellow Porsche 911 Turbo. I turned around, knowing that if I was human I would have tears streaming down my face. I launched myself at him in front of everyone, being careful to keep up the human charade.

"Thank you, brother!" I whispered, hugging him tightly.

Every eye in the classroom was looking back and forth, between the car, Edward, and me.

"Best birthday ever!" I told him.

How did I miss this? I asked him in my mind. He just smirked, walking out of the classroom.
