A/N: Hey guys, some of you remember me from the Within You, Without You story that was never completed. I apologize for that, after hurricane Irene destroyed my home and internet connection, I had to move. When I finally got back online my story was deleted from the site because I did not accept the terms of agreement... for obvious reasons. If anyone knows how I can get my story back, I'd love you forever because I'd love to finish it officially! I'm sure some of you would like to know what happens to Morigan, Sayne, Derryk, Nathara, and Jareth.

Let me know if anyone can help or know anything that I can do.

In the mean time, this is a new story. It starts off slow but I hope you all will enjoy it. It's a darker side to my writing and I hope it goes over well! I write for your enjoyment so please let me know!

Thanks again!

Disclaimer: I do not own Labyrinth, Jareth, or any other characters I use from the movie. They belong to Jim Henson.

The walls seemed to be closing in on her as she ran... the cool wind against her burning cheeks. Her lungs screaming for air as her feet hit the ground with harsh strides. The ground began to tremble under her feet as the sky before her darkened. The walls still caving in behind her, the dead branches reaching out to stop her, trying to trip her. Some tangled in her blood red hair, keeping her in one position for too long. Another branch grabbing her pant leg, forcing her to fall to her knees. Quickly, she turned to rip her pants to escape. Yet, like every night, it was too late, and the walls caved in on her...

Amelie sat up with a start, gasping for air as a cold sweat stained her forehead. Her chest falling and rising with haste as her hands found her forehead. She rested her weary head there for a moment, just a moment to catch her breath and to soothe her dizzy mind. "Another nightmare?" She uttered to no one. Like every other time she awoke from this nightmare, Amelie slowly arose from her bed and headed to the bathroom to rise her face. Also, like every other time, she'd head to the kitchen to get a cold glass of water to calm the burning in her throat.

Amelie stood at the kitchen counter of her small studio apartment, drinking quickly as though the water would evaporate. Her attention turned to the white satin curtain, blowing from the cool October breeze. Gently, she placed the glass in the sink and headed over to the window. It was an unusually quiet night in the city, minus the sirens and the car horns. Normally, the city was so alive this time of night. A sense of security to the young twenty-two year old. Yet tonight, there was an abnormal calm. She slowly climbed out the window and onto the emergency escape stairwell, and walked over to the railing. She stared up at the night sky that seemed just an endless black from all the lights, every so often seeing a few planes. Her eyes then darted to the building across from hers, to see a curious sight. Perched on the building across from her, on the railing of the opposing stairwell was a white barn owl. Amelie stared curiously at first, wondering how an animal like that could even be here in the city. They weren't native to these parts, she thought.

Amelie watched as the owl seemed to stare at her, watch her every little movement. She began to grow paranoid, and soon went back inside, closing the window. Exhaustion began to take over once more, and soon Amelie found herself crawling back into bed... unaware that the owl was still watching.

Last Thing: Thanks again! And please, if anyone knows how to get my old story back, it would be much appreciated! Hope you enjoyed so far!
