Playing God.

Hayley Williams frowned to no one in particular as she tapped her polished fingernails on her dining table, deep in thoughts. She had heard them, the guys, Josh, Jeremy, Zac and Taylor, talking about kicking her out of the band. Well - overheard wasn't exactly the right word. Eavesdropped, perhaps? Yes, eavesdropped. A faint smile touched her lips as she recalled their expressions when she casually walked in the training room. Startled? Alarmed? Panic-stricken? Guilty? Well, in any case, they didn't confront her about the serious issue. Nor the next day, nor the day after. Time passed and Hayley began to feel insecure. By each and every passing minute, she became more and more self-councious. Her attitude changed. So did her way of thinking...

Hayley's fingers stopped abruptly, her nails lightly skimming the glossy glass-top. An idea had come to her. A wonderful, glorious idea. The corners of her lips lifted slightly into an unnerving smile as she continued drumming her fingers, devising her plan.

"So here you are pieces,

Trying to prove to us it's real,

The softness of your smile,

And the lies you want to feel,

Well the scales beneath your skin,

Are showing off today,

There's evil in your heart, and it wants out to play,

There's evil in your heart, and it wants out to play,

There's evil in your heart,

And I've made a home here for me,

Don't burn it down with your fantasies,

And I've made a home here for me,

Don't burn it down with your fantasies..."

A/N: That bit of lyrics was the intro for their song Ignorance.
