Happy Birthday Harry Potter & JK Rowling!

This is set today, and I wrote it in about an hour.

It's not particularly good, but I thought I'd post it as a way of celebrating both birthdays.

Enjoy :)

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" James yelled, jumping onto his father.

"James," his mother said, "Leave him to sleep, he had a busy night last night."

The man rolled over, so his back was to his young son and wife. Another boy, aged four, ran into the room, and tapped his mother on the back.

"Mummy! Can I wake Lily?"

"I only got her settled at three in the morning, Al, leave her for a bit."

"But Mummy! It's Daddy's birthday!"

The other boy turned, and looked disapprovingly at this younger brother.

"Don't be silly, Al. Daddy needs to sleep."

The small boy's face fell, and he stuck his thumb in his mouth.

"Boys, let's go get some breakfast. You can wake Lily and Daddy after we've eaten, I promise. Is that alright?" their mother asked, placing a hand on the youngest's shoulder. "And, Albus, take your thumb out your mouth."

The older boy took a moment to consider the offer, but the younger brother immediately nodded, and took off for the stairs, his hands now by his sides.

"Go on, James. I'll meet you in the kitchen," the mother prompted, waving a hand towards the door.

Reluctantly, he plodded off in the direction of the stairs. Once she was sure he had reached the kitchen, the woman turned to find her husband facing her, a wide grin on his thin face.

"Gin, what was the point in that? I was awake," he smiled.

"I know, but it's not fair for them to wake Lily, so I thought that maybe they would wait if they thought you were asleep. You know how much they respect you and your wishes," Ginny replied, "Though, I didn't like seeing James upsetting Albus like that."

"He always assumes he's so superior."

"Just like his dad," she joked, leaning over to kiss Harry's hair. "Happy birthday Harry." She paused. "I should go get the boys some food, before they try for themselves."

Ginny got off the bed, and walked down the stairs quickly. Her husband stood up and walked up the stairs to his daughter's room. Opening the door carefully, he saw her sleeping peacefully in her cot. At two years old, she was a small child with red hair and big brown eyes, just like her mother. Deciding against waking her, Harry left the room as quietly as possible.

"DADDY!" he heard her scream as he began descending the stairs.

He turned, and walked back to her room quickly.

"Lily," he said, slightly panicked, "Are you ok?"

"Happy birthday," she giggled, raising her arms to tell her father she wanted to get out of the cot.

He reached for her, and held her close to him.

"Shall we go see your brothers and get some food?"

The toddler nodded, and planted a large kiss on her father's nose.

"Thank you, Lily," he laughed, and kissed her forehead.

When they reached the kitchen a few minutes later, Harry's sons jumped out of their chairs, and ran for their father.

"Happy birthday Daddy!"

Harry put his daughter down, and his three children stood at his feet, all beaming happily up at him. He thought back to the events of thirteen years ago, and found it hard to believe that so much had changed.

"Happy birthday Harry. Boys, do you want to get Daddy's presents from the other room?"

Albus and James bounced off up the kitchen stairs, chattering as they went. Harry picked up Lily again, and placed her in her chair at the table. Sitting down, he waited for his sons to return. Happy Birthday, he thought to himself.
