Riddle

Warnings: KisaIta hints

"Oi Itachi-san," Kisame spoke suddenly.

The person in question ignored him, opting to hang up his cloak and prepare for a relaxing soak instead. They had just finished a difficult mission, their fifth in the past week, and Itachi was in no mood to deal with his partner's aggravating antics.

But still, Kisame prompted, "I have a riddle for you, Itachi-san, and you must answer it. It will determine whether you are a true murderer at heart or not." He flashed a toothy grin at the irritable raven.

Itachi's hands paused under the hem of his shirt and he glanced over at Kisame, raising an eyebrow slightly.

"Tobi asked me actually," Kisame babbled on cheerfully. "Turns out Akatsuki has new recruitment rules now. Whoever can't answer this question correctly gets the boot."

A small pause. Then grumpily, "Well, what is it?"

"You must answer this riddle," Kisame began. "So, a boy's father dies and he attends the funeral. He's really sad, but at the funeral, he meets the most gorgeous," he emphasized, "most amazing guy he had ever seen in his life, a superhuman almost."

"A what?"

"Just let me continue. So this boy meets this really incredible guy and of course instantly falls in love with him. But then the funeral ends, and when he goes home... He kills his younger brother. So the question is, why would he do that?"

Kisame looked at Itachi expectantly as the other climbed into the hot spring. The other's expression didn't change, but he could tell that his mind was carefully analyzing the question.

"Wait," Itachi muttered. "So if we can't answer this correctly, we can no longer remain in Akatsuki?"

"Yup. Proves you've got murderous intent. I got the answer right," Kisame said smugly. "I could tell you, if you want."

"That's ridiculous, it's quite obvious," Itachi mumbled, suppressing a sigh of content as his body was submerged in the steaming water. "The kid... had mental issues, is it right?"

"Nope."

"He was an assassin."

"Noope."

Silence.

"Guess you don't belong here with us after all?" Kisame grinned.

Itachi brooded and sunk lower in the water as his partner climbed in behind him. He sat between the blue, outstretched legs and rested his head back on the muscular chest. Kisame played with his black hair tenderly.

His breath blew against Itachi's cheek. "It's because he wanted to see that guy again. He forgot his number the first time."

Itachi's eyes widened slightly as the realization dawned on him.

"Heh, funny thing ain't it," Kisame kissed the back of his head lightly. "The things we do for love."

He grunted as Itachi elbowed him in the rib. "Don't flatter yourself."

A/N:

Randomness FTW x)

The riddle is a real question to test murderous intent though. Did anyone guess it right? :'D
