Hi there so dont ask me why I've decided to start a whole new bechloe story with all my other ones on hold but I felt a new surge of feels with QUEERBAIT we are getting from universal. So I've decided to write a Fake Dating AU... Hopefully you'll enjoy. Please read and review and let me know if i should continue or not. I've also posted this on Tumblr and AO3
The music was blaring, the floor vibrating as people all around Beca danced along to the mediocre house band play at in the club. She was still at the bar waiting for the bartender to pay her any attention. She was even tempted to whip her boobs out for the sake of the gin. But before she could contemplate the idea properly a guy splayed his body out in front of Beca and tried to flirt with her.
"Hey pretty lady." He managed through his drunken slur.
"Yeah no."
"Oh come on. I think we'd have a good time." Before Beca could respond with a snarky comment that would have probably lead to an outburst of violence because it wasn't going to be pretty, she felt an arm wrap around her shoulders.
Beca didn't even have to look to know who it was. Despite the smell of beer, vomit and sweat, Chloe still managed to have a sweet aroma to her. Like vanilla.
"Hey babe I'm so sorry the line at the bathroom was so long." Beca was thankful for the interruption.
"It's ok babe. I'm just glad you're back."
"I hope you didn't miss me too much.' She winked. "And who is this fellow?"
"Oh just some drunk idiot trying to hit on me."
"Hey…" he murmured slowly getting the hint.
"Poor guy considering you're happily taken."
"That I am." They both gave him a glare and he didn't stick around much longer. "Thank god." Beca sighed in relief.
"It looked like you needed quiet the rescuing."
"As if Beale. I could've handled it. Just probably not as nonviolent." She grinned proudly. Despite her cocky demeanour Beca was glad Chloe had been there to save her. It was the only reason Beca agreed to let Chloe drag her out to the club after her semi-recent break up with Jesse. Surprisingly it was mutual but it still didn't mean Beca was ready to have some drunk creep grind all up in her grill. Chloe and Beca had a pretty good system put in place between the two of them since day one. Whenever one or the other was experiencing unwanted attention the other would swoop in to deter them. Besides it was easy being her fake girlfriend for a minute.
"I swear to god you'd end up in jail somewhere if I ever left you alone for more than 5 seconds."
"Technically I ended up in jail in freshman year with the trophy through the window thing and you were present."
"Oh I recall Miss Beca Mitchell and never again have I allowed you to storm into another fist fight with that tiny little body of yours."
"It's not that small!"
"It is my pocket sized loverrrr." Chloe laughed.
"God that just sounds so bad. No Chlo."
"Whatever you sayyy." She teased.
"Morning Becs." Chloe's cheery smile greeted Beca's door with coffee in hand. She knew it was the safest way to approach a freshly awoken Beca Mitchell. Beca stepped aside with a grumble letting the redhead in while taking the coffee offered to her. "So today we've got to do some recruiting for the Bella's. A new year and new Bellas! My favourite time of the year."
"I thought Christmas was your favourite time of the year." Beca mustered.
"I have lots of favourite times of the year. It's hard to choose honestly. There's a lot of great days to look forward to." She beamed. Beca rolled her eyes with a groan. She didn't understand how one could possibly as cheery as Chloe Beale but honestly she wouldn't have it any other way. It was nice to see that in a world of darkness Chloe provided much needed light, even if a front row seat could be blinding at times.
"You're too cheery for 7.30 in the morning."
"You're too grouchy for every time of the day." Chloe quipped. "Besides I love seeing what new talents can bring. And you get to weed out the weak."
"I suppose there are some perks to Activity fairs."
"Yeah so hurry up and get dressed so we can go set up."
"Fine." She grumbled and walked to the closet to get her favourite black and red flannel shirt paired with a white t-shirt and black jeans. She turned around to see Chloe still there waiting patiently her attention directed towards her. "You're just going to watch aren't you?"
"It's nothing I haven't seen before. Besides I paid good coffee for this show so mush."
"And here I thought you got me coffee from the kindness of your heart."
"Oh young Becs don't you know nothing that good can ever be free." She smirked before Beca just sighed in defeat and got dressed. She didn't really care all that much. She just couldn't resist the opportunity for banter.
The activities fair was buzzing to say the least. The stalls were all filled with too eager freshmen trying to get a taste of everything Barden has to offer. Chloe was the obvious front man for passing out flyers while Beca leaned against the booth unenthusiastically selling people to join the Bellas.
"We are the Bardens. We sing acapella. Yes it's just with our mouths. You should join it's pretty cool." Beca spoke to a young blooming freshman that passed by.
"You know you're going to have to do a lot better than that if you ever want to get people interested."
"Oh please Chloe you can do that all on your own. You're just naturally more captivating." She threw a compliment at her trying to schmooze her way out of doing any work.
"If you put half the effort you put in to trying to charm your way out of doing work, you'd be able get half the campus interested in the Bellas."
"Do my eyes deceive me or is that Miss Chloe Beale standing in front of me." A voice near them spoke. As the person drew closer Beca was able to match the voice with the face. It wasn't a half bad looking face. He had a strong jawline, strong green eyes and a set of wavy luscious black hair. There was something about the way he carried his body that Beca didn't like though. Too showy with his apparent swag. It was like he was handpicked from the catalogue of fuckboys. Something Beca couldn't stand.
"Hi Sebastian."
"I was hoping I'd run into you. You look as radiant as ever."
"Thanks… How are the parents?"
"They are well I'll be sure to tell them hi from you. Now what can a guy do around here to get the attention of one beautiful redhead?"
"Well… as flattered as I am with that invitation I'm actually seeing someone."
"Oh and who might the unlucky fellow be considering he might lose you soon enough."
"Right actually. Beca's my girlfriend."
"What?" With a subtle jab in the ribs Beca was able to recover nicely. "Yes that is me. I'm the girlfriend."
"Oh how interesting. I never knew you were interested in girls."
"Well I didn't see any reason to tell you."
"Oh well. I guess that is fair. Hopefully that'll change this semester."
"Wait… What does that mean?" Chloe was having a mental panic. She could not survive more than 6 hour family dinners with this guy.
"Oh did I forget to mention? I'm transferring here. I'm starting this semester. I look forward to seeing you a lot more Chloe." He winked seductively and walked away leaving Chloe aghast.
"Oh my god. I can't believe he is going to Barden. I bet he is going to find every which way to try and insert himself into my life. God I can't believe this is happening." Chloe was pacing back and forth in her room.
"Who is this guy anyway?" Beca interrupted the girl's rant. She was situated on top of her bed watching the clog turn in the redhead's mind.
"He. Ugh. Our family have basically been friends forever. They come over for family BBQ's etc. But somehow Sebastian got in inside of his tiny little brain of his that we would be perfect together. He incessantly hits on me at any given opportune time. I just can't stand to be around him."
"And you lied about us being together because?"
"Honestly in hopes that he would stop flirting with me. I can't say no either because my parents think he is the poster boy for dating. They honestly have been trying to set me up with him for years. I've always just said I was dating someone and that they didn't have to set me up with anyone. God now he thinks that we are dating. And if he finds out we aren't then he would stop at nothing just to date me. What did I drag you in to? God. If you don't want to keep fake dating me that's fine. I'll just have to fine someone soon before he finds out I'm single. God who I date at such short notice? I guess there's Reese in accounting but he looks like a stage 5 clinger or there's always Jasmine from Art." Chloe continued to ramble on until Beca's brain caught up with all the words that she was spouting and stopped her.
"Ok I need you to breathe for a second Chlo. Breathe in. Breathe out." Chloe did as she was told. "So let me recap. There is a colossal douchebag who you can't really be mean to or family things will suck more than they already do and you need someone to pretend to be with you in order to avoid him at all costs." She nodded her reply, still trying to calm her breathing. "I'll do it."
"What?" Chloe turned in surprise. She couldn't believe her ears.
"I'll do it. I'll be your fake girlfriend."
"Beca this isn't for 2 seconds with a drunken douche trying to hit on us. This is with a guy who I literally can't avoid to save my life. He is going to be everywhere."
"I know. But you've bailed me out more times than I can count and you deserve better than some asshat like that. I'll be your fake girlfriend for as long as you need me to be." Chloe squealed and wrapped her arms around the smaller girl.
"Thank you thank you thank you. I love you so much."
"Besides it's not like he can really be everywhere. I doubt we'd even need to be all that coupley." Oh how wrong Beca was.
Did you like it? What do you think will happen? Should i continue?
