I felt random whilst reading Dark Harry fic's and decided to have a whack at writing my own. So here it is my weird, and incredibly short, one-shot.

Lost Cause…
Harry stared blankly at the makeshift Battleground, then at the two groups who had caused it. One side Voldemort, his death eaters poised for yet another attack, the other the ministry. He wished that Dumbledore had survived long enough to make this decision for him, as he had no idea what to do. Harry attempted to force the image of his friends, caught up in a war they should have never had to fight, out of his mind. He could feel Hermione's' pained expression bore into him as, after many minutes of staring around, he had made his decision and stepped towards the cloaked figures.
He reached Voldemorts' side and turned to face the ministry. Voldemort laughed his could chilling laugh, and spoke. "There you go Scrimgeour, the boy has decided."
Harry kept his expression neutral attempting to hide all emotion, though inside he was falling apart. Tears were now flowing freely from the eyes of his friends, and was resisting the temptation to cry as well. Voldemort peered down at his newly found protégé and hissed in snake tongue…'prove your worth boy' Harry simply nodded and turned to face the minister for magic. He then muttered the cursed words to end his life…
"AVADA KADAVRA"
Choked gasps echoed throughout as the body hit the ground with a dull thud. Hermione tore her face away from the empty body and stepped forwards. "How could you Harry, I thought we could always trust you" He shook his head in an attempt to clear it and met her eyes. "I am sorry, I really am" he said quietly before apparating away, followed by Voldemort and the death eaters, leaving behind an utterly disappointed and betrayed group of witches and wizards.
