Dedicated to: all of you who reviewed my other song, "Storms of Wrath"
--WanderingTeen, Attend The Tale, Saru Wolfe, & Shelby the Forest Fairy--
thank you! XD

Note to the readers: Upon listening to track #2 on the DMC soundtrack far too much, what I noticed is that it's not a song, as in verses and a chorus and harmony and all that. It's not even like Davy Jones's song, which has one verse that is repeated multiple times. The Kraken is kind of like a chant, but really it's more like a theme and variation. It's "theme" is (basically) 16 triplets followed by 2 eighth-notes. (Examples: 0:40-0:56, and 2:30-2:45). But then there's a bunch of variations, where they still have 16 triplets, but they are played with different notes, or sometimes with extra notes thrown in between the triplets. (Examples: 1:49-2:11, 6:12-6:37)

But anyway! Now that I've got all that said and done, I decided that in stead of writing different tunes to the different variations, I'd just write lyrics to the theme, and let you put it into the variations as you see fit.

So here it is, and thanks for being patient with all that…
If you so desire, read on, my friend! ;)

Kraken's Song

(Version 1)
Toll the bells,
Loose the cry,
It has come-
All shall die.
Jones's pet
With foul breath-
Meet the beast,
Meet your death.
Suckers rip
Life away-
Those who live
Shall be slaves.
Alas! Those
Who don't fall
Wish they took
Death we call- Kraken!

(Version 2)
Hear them weep,
Hear their cry-
Hammer's fall
Draws it nigh.
Despair rings
With each strike-
Damnation
At its height.
Deadly myth,
Heartless fate,
Cruel legend
It creates-
A nightmare,
Now alive.
Hear them wail,
Hear their cry- Kraken!

(Version 3)
Some may fight,
Bare their teeth-
They will sleep,
Not in peace.
Cowards may
Try to flee,
To escape
From this beast,
Yet they find
Far worse fate-
Living death,
Gruesome chains.
They shall weep,
On this day
Curséd by
We who wake- Kraken!
