The Devil, The details: Extended Ending
The bartender placed another shot glass down on the counter and Bull swiftly picked it up, drinking it and slamming it back on the counter.
The girl seated next to him was slowly sipping her drink. Jason Bull leaned in close to her, he spoke in a low flirty voice, a smirk present on his lips. "Do you want to get out of here?" He asked. He placed his hand on top of hers.
She gave a small laugh slowly pulling her hand away from his. Bull sat up, his face falling. He adjusted his glasses and Arti Cander looked him square in the eye.
"Do you know the difference between you and I, Dr. Bull?" She asked. "I can read people without mirror juries"
"We won the case, didn't we?" Bull asked doing another shot.
"This one," Ms. Cander smirked, "but I mean in general, I can read people pretty well just by looking at their face, the way their hands move, the way they interact with others"
"I consider myself to be pretty good at reading people," Bull defended
"You thought I was going to say yes to sleeping with you just then," Arti countered.
"I know you wanted to say yes," Bull said, "somethings stopping you."
"Something is stopping me," Arti admitted. "Its you," Bull raised an eyebrow and titled his head in confusion. "I can read people extremely well, I trained for years, and I know when I see a man in love."
"What?" Bull laughed.
"I'm not joking Dr. Bull," she said sternly.
"With who?" Bull asked.
"Your little partner in crime from the trial."
"Cable? I did this case as a favor to her, the victim was a friend, she's a child, if anything she's more like a daughter to me." Bull said shrugging this whole conversation off.
"I don't mean the girl."
Bulls face fell, his mind went through every possibility. He squinted his eyebrows his mouth slightly open. What was she getting at?
"I see the way you look at him," Cander comments.
"Benny?" Bull asked.
"The people I represented today may have been wrong but I never am"
"I've known Benny since we were kids," Jason defended
"Let me guess, known each other for years, you work together, things get stressful he's the only one who can calm you down, when something comes up he's the first person you go to,"
"He's like a brother to me!"
Arti smiled, standing up and quickly pushing in her chair, she put a hand on Bulls shoulder "We both know it's a little more then that" she walked around him and Bull turned to watch her go. His calls after her did nothing and she left.
His heart was beating in his chest. His leg was restless. His mind continued to run what she said over and over in his head. He stood up, rolling his eyes and pushing what she said out of his mind... For now.
