It's just a second
everything comes tumbling down
destruction all around
a snow avalanche
constructed of painful words
think for a moment

it's the burning feeling in your chest
control the tears in your face
breathed deeply

and so the explosion comes
you feel the cuts appearing in your body
tiny pieces of window
cutting deep into your skin
is there anything else
have the lies stopped
or is this a revolution

Are the clashing fingers a sign
of what used to be a slip of hands
perfectly connected like one
has turned to a barrier of steel
no interconnection or open path
and then there's the love
for as my heart seeks yours
I hear the screams calling me closer
our hearts are one
life is a bridge
we can't cross
so we stay on our side
it's time to grow up
break our hearts
destroy our minds
but we'll get back up again
as our own person

and a new future away from the past.
